Dancing with an Alpha

Chapter 8:

Carson POV:

The next couple weeks would pass by fast. I had convinced Leia to move into the pack house with me as I wanted to make sure she was safe from Kyle. We still don’t know where he is or what he plans on doing but we wanted to be ready so I have upped security around the borders. Over the weeks I would take Leia to practice and stay by her side the whole time watching her and making sure she is always safe. The day of her performance she had to be at the Theatre early that morning to get ready so I drove her myself. It was about 6am when we left the pack house and it was freezing out….well to her I was fine as Xy had already grown his winter coat and kept me warm. As soon as she got into the car she turned the performance music on and closed her eyes, going over it in her head. I smiled as I glanced at her she was so cute when she was performing in her head I put my hand on her leg as I drive, I needed her touch as I wouldn’t get to be by her side for a few hours.

I pull up to where she is supposed to be and look at her, “are you sure you don’t want me coming in with you?” I say. Knowing Kyle could be around any corner I never wanted to leave her side. She laughs and kisses my cheek “love I am perfectly safe I will see you at the performance” she smiles. She zips her coat up and grabs her bag as she gets out of the car. She would run up to a couple of her girl friends from the ballet and grab onto their arms. I saw how excited she was and I was happy for her I couldn’t wait to see my dove perform tonight.

Merlia POV:

The day of the performance came faster than I ever thought and I was more excited and nervous than ever. It had just snowed the night before so Carson, Devin, Arina, Lex and I all went out and had some fun playing in it for hours before we cuddled up on the couch in the entertainment room with hot cocoa made specially by Mrs. Larson and let me tell you it was AMAZING! The morning of the performance I would get up and shower then get ready for the day I was going to do hair and makeup at the dance hall so I didn’t need to worry about that. I threw my hair up in a quick messy bun and grabbed my dance bag putting everything I needed in it.

Carson drove me to the dance hall before heading back to the pack house. I ran up to Leah grabbing her arm as the others joined us and talked as we walked inside. “So” Leah smiles at me as we sit at our mirrors. I smile and take my makeup and stuff out of my bag, “so what” I look at her smiling she rolls her eyes. “We need the goods sister, how are you and Carson? Is he still as wonderful as ever, have you guys done it yet?! Tell us!” I laugh as Liz rolls her eyes. “Leah that is none of our business leave her personal life alone,” “it’s ok Liz” I smile as I sit back on my chair. “We are doing great, yes he is still as wonderful as ever and no we haven’t done anything yet but I did move in with him a couple weeks ago so we will see what happens there.” I smile happily she squeals and giggles “oh you two are like my favorite couple! Does he have any single friends?” she asks I smile “he has one his name is Lex but I don’t know if he is your type but he will be at the performance tonight so maybe you will get to meet him” I tell her she grins and we all start getting ready.

Everyone arrives and things get chaotic as we all get ready and get into costumes and the kids are running around. I smile happily and poke my head out from behind the curtain and there they are sitting in the middle section 6 rows back. Carson, his parents, Lex, Devin, Arina, Avery and some of the other pack members I have gotten close to all sitting. Carson sees me and smiles. I wave and blow him a kiss. He pretends to catch it and puts it in his pocket. I laugh and shake my head going back to get the rest of my costume on.

Carson POV:

We all arrived at the recital and then sat in our seats waiting. I notice Leia poking her head out from behind the curtain. I smile as she blows me a kiss. I caught it and put it in my pocket. She shakes her head and goes to the back. I smile and sit back talking with my family as we wait. The theatre fills up quickly and soon the dance starts. Everyone on the stage danced wonderfully and it was a wonderful show but no one out shined my dove. She was just brilliant. I couldn’t have been more proud of her performance.

At the end we all stand and head out where you can talk to the cast and take pictures and do whatever. Leia was still in her costume from her last scene as the sugar plum fairy and she looks stunning. She was currently taking pictures with some children so we waited. I had brought some of her favorite flowers for her as she deserved them greatly. Walking up to her I felt a calm rush over me as I was getting to be in her arms again. I hand her the flowers and kiss her cheek. “You were magnificent, dove.” I whisper. She smiles happily while taking the flowers. “Thank you Carson” I nod and my mother hugs her and she talks with everyone I stay beside her holding her close. Mom insists on taking our picture so we do. “We will be waiting out here for you” I tell her as she goes back to change out of her costume. “So where are we eating?” Devin grins I laugh and roll my eyes “is that all you can think about is food?” I ask him and he nods “I am starving!” I laugh, shaking my head. 

We all stood in the lobby talking while we waited for Leia. After a bit I sensed her as she was walking into the lobby with some friends talking to them. One of them was the man she danced with Xy growls causing her to look at me quickly. “Xy shut the f*ck up” I tell him he growls “that man is talking to our mate” he says I sigh “Xylais stop she isn’t in any danger and she knows we are hers” I say then shutting him down as she walks over and takes my hand I look down at my little dove. “Is everything ok?” she whispers. I nod, smiling. “Yes dove Xylais is just being an a*s” I kiss her forehead. She smiles at me and kisses my jawline cause she was too short to reach my cheek I laugh and lean down kissing her sweet tender lips. She smiles with her eyes still closed as I pull away “better?” I ask as she nods blushing “yes” she whispers I smile and pull her close.

Devin clears his throat. I turn and look at him “yes Devin we can go get food now.” He grins and pumps his fist in the air “yes!” We all laugh as we head out. I open Leia’s door for her and let her climb in before I walk over to my side and climb in as well. I quickly start the car and turn the heat on for her. She smiles and turns her seat warmer on as well. I chuckle and take her hand in mine. “Where are we going?” She asks softly I smile “to the restaurant I took you on our first date” I say looking over at her she grins and sits back. “Oh I was going to ask, is it ok if my friend Liz joins us she doesn’t have anyone to celebrate our first night with?” She looks up at me as I drive. I nod “yes dove you can invite your friend you don’t have to ask” I look down at her then back at the road. She gets her phone out letting go of my hand but placing it on her leg as she texts her friend.

Merlia POV:

I was excited that Liz was going to join us. She was my best friend. She also had a thing for Lex after seeing him in the crowd she thought he was hot stuff which made me giggle when she told me that. Lex was a good man and I trust him but I didn’t want Liz to be hurt if she wasn’t his mate as he was waiting for his mate before ever dating. We pulled up to the restaurant and Carson climbed out handing the valet his keys before opening my door for me. I took his hand, smiling as I climbed out. I snuggled into his side to stay warm from the cold as we walked inside. WE were all seated in the back at a huge table to sit us all with an extra seat for Liz. I look at my phone then stand Carson looks at me “Liz is here I will be back” I kiss his cheek then head to the front. “Liz!” I smile walking over to her and I take her arm smiling. “We are in the back. I will show you the way.” I show her to the table and then feel a tug as she stops dead in her tracks laying eyes on Lex. I look over at her then Lex stands “mate” he says I look between them and Carson rushes over pulling me away from Liz. I watch as Lex walks over and puts his hand on her cheek she stares at him in awe “where have you been my whole life” Lex smiles and then kisses her. I smile and lean into Carson “he found his mate” I look at Carson he nods and kisses my head. “Yes he did dove but I will need to stop him before he marks her right here” he chuckles and walks over putting his hand on Lex’s shoulder. Lex growls then realizes what he did and bows his head “I am so sorry Carson.” Car shrugs and chuckles “it’s ok” he looks at Liz who stares at Lex wide eyed “did…...did you just…..growl?” she says.

We all just stand there shocked he looks at her then takes her hands in his. “Liz my love I am a werewolf” he says I stand there shocked he just spit it out. She looks at him for a moment then shrugs, “ok that’s fine I trust you” she smiles I look at her “wait what?” I say confused and she smiles “yeah he’s too hot to hurt me” she says I look at Carson completely shocked he chuckles and kisses my head, “let’s all sit and eat.”

Sitting there I was shocked at how she reacted but she seemed to be happy so I didn’t push it. Dinner was amazing. We all laughed and talked. I smiled seeing how happy Liz and Lex were and I was happy for them. Our Gamma finally had his mate and it was my best friend. I couldn’t have been happier for her…..for both of them.
