The Shooting Star:

The Winds Twist of Fortune

Weeks later… the Crown Sword is seen powering some contraption at the top of a summit. A shooting star zips past in the sky. At that moment, the sword begins reacting. It causes an explosion destroying the device. The sword flies away as it releases Alistor.

"Where am I?"

He finally awakens from his sleep. Without hesitation, he grabs the sword back in his hands.

"RARE! Where are you?"

He takes a good look at his surroundings.

"Is this the star summit? What am even I doing here?"

Not too sooner, a star-shaped monster arrives on the scene with some grunts.

"What was that racket?"

He spots Alistor by the destroyed machine.

"Who the heck are you? Wait! The device is destroyed! Master Rare trusted us to safeguard this."

"Where's Rare! Tell me now!" Alistor demanded.

"A persistent one, huh? You should have stayed asleep like the goody boy you are."

Alistor hesitated.

"Sleep….How long have I been gone?"

The monster pulls out its staff.

"Sorry to break it to you, but a year has passed. Rare warned me this would happen. So it looks like I'll have to put you down."

Alistor readies his blade for battle.

"So you pulled the Crown Sword? Let's see if you can use it correctly. A weapon is only strong with the user that wields it. The names Star Stormer and I'll be delighted to end you." The monster chuckled.

"Bring it!" Alistor yelled.

"Vortex Troopers! Attack!"

The grunts first charged in. Alistor unleashes his attack, sending them all flying away.

"Star Breaker!"

Streams of shooting start a fire out from the monster's chest. Alistor rolls to the side, avoiding the attack as the monsters make a dash down.

"Now your mine!"

Alistor's Crown sword clashed with his star-shaped staff. The monster proceeds to float in the air. Alistor didn't hesitate to unleash his attack.

"Star breaker!"

The monster anticipates his move.

"Star Crasher!"

The monster fires a crashing sphere to block his attack. Unfortunately, both attacks collide, resulting in one big explosion. Alistor gets sent flying back as his opponent floats casually.

"Think I'll let that attack land on me?" The monster pestered. "The stars are my home field."

Alistor proceeds to fire a barrage of energy from his sword. Star Stormer easily avoids all his attacks in midair.

"HA! Your attacks are predictable."

The monster fires its Star Crasher, sending Alistor flying once more. He is seen down but not out.

"I got to approach this differently. This monster got the advantage in the air." Alistor said.

The monster floats casually around, mocking him. Then something about Rena comes to his mind.

"I got it!"

Something was up to his sleeve as he readied his blade. The monster didn't care what he was planning.

"Now die!!!"

The monster sends another Star Crasher at him. Alistor gets into position for the attack.

"Rena…give me strength."

With the power from his blade, he swung back at the attack bouncing it directly back at the monster.

"What?" The monster broke a sweat and reacted.

Star Stormer reacted, deflecting his attack back with his staff. Alistor deflected it back to him and vice versa, and the monster sent it again, barely keeping its timing.

"And for the final push!"

He focuses more power and force onto the next swing at the Star Crasher.

"NO!!!"

The monster gets stunned. Struggling to stay afloat, Star Stormer was left wide open. Alistor proceeds to finish him.

"Silver Shrapnel!"

"Rare…. I'm FALLING!!!"

The monster's body broke away like glass. With Star Stormer vanquished, Alistor proceeds to look at the horizon from the very top of the summit.

"Emerald City…not much has changed."

He stares at the city buildings laid across the distance. A sense of relief was in his eyes for the moment. Then, from a passing breeze, he feels something. A hand touching the back of his hair. Alistor looks back.

"Rena?"

He imagines Rena watching over him. Alistor goes to pull out her crest from his pocket.

"I'll bring you back. Just wait and see."

An explosion immediately goes off down in the city, alerting his attention.

"What was that? I better check it out."

In a matter of moments, Alistor arrives on the scene. In the middle of the city block, he spots Auroa in his demonic form.

"Now you can join them…."

Auroa lashes out, his wind shattering a bunch of windows. Then, Alistor witnesses absolute horror as Havok fires a blast destroying some buildings in sight.

"Auroa? Is that you?" Alistor asked.

The wind master turns around.

"A lovely day, isn't it? So where have you been all this time?"

"What happened to you? Why? Why are you doing this?" Alistor wondered.

"Ever since you disappeared, the rest of the team has left. Mathias is nothing but a selfish pack of ignorant bigots." Auroa pointed.

Alistor was left dumbfounded.

"What do you mean?"

"It was inevitable from the very start. I have come to realize Moon's vision."

"I don't understand…."

Auroa got into a pose.

"Rare has awakened my true power. But, as you see…father can be very demanding." Auroa muttered.

"Wait…you don't mean to tell me."

"Yes…Mr. Rare is none other than my creator. My life was bound by fate at the very start."

Alistor was at a loss for words at that moment. Shocked as he couldn't fathom this revelation.

"So Rare is your father…I just don't understand. Why do you have to obey him? He's evil! We can work together to take him down." Alistor said.

Auroa only turned away. Kabuki and Havok laughed at Alistor's righteous words.

"It's not as easy as you think. In fact, I prefer to handle things my way. So… As an old friend, I ask you. Stay out of our way; we have no quarrels against you."

Alistor was nearly left speechless. His hair covered his eyes as his head went down, trying not to show emotion. He felt slightly heartbroken hearing this but kept strong and faced him.

"Rare completely corrupted you. You've lost it, Auroa. If you continue hurting others. I'll have no choice but to fight you. So, please! Stop this madness at once." He quietly spoke.

"How about we make a proposal!"

"How so?" Alistor asked.

Auroa presents something.

"Is this what you're after?"

He brought out the object he desired most. A piece of the V Crystal. Alistor's eyes widen for a moment.

"The V crystal of Mind. How did you even get it?" Alistor wondered.

"Rare has entrusted me with this piece, but I have little use for it. You seek three crystals, correct? Mind, Body, and Soul. This is the mind piece, and you can have this. All I demand is no further interference in our plans? Let us take this entire region; we'll help you locate the remaining pieces afterward. How does that sound? More than fair enough?"

It was a bribe yet a painful choice for him to make.

"The Crystal…. For Rena….Let Mathias fall...Or Rena….."

"Yes! You want your beloved Rena back, don't you? So give up now, and you'll be on your way. It's a win-win." Auroa pressed.

A tense moment in the passing. The flames died away as the cold wind breezed through the city. Both sides are at a standstill. Alistor quickly decided.

"No…..I can't do this. It's not right. I won't sell out Mathias for this." Alistor said.

The scene focused on Alistor's lower face, and a smile followed.

"Besides… It wouldn't be fun after all if I didn't try. I'll never get strong taking the easy route. I want to know how strong you guys are. You're my next challenge, so I won't give up without a fight." Alistor pointed.

He felt better after that speech. Pointing directly at them, he was ready for anything. This got the Wind Ruler smiling once again. Havok and Kabuki get into a dramatic pose.

"You remain true to your roots." Auroa smiled. "Very well…Since you made your choice. Allow my team members to introduce themselves."

Havok jumps into the scene, cutting and showing off in the air. Finally, he lands on the ground posing with his blade.

"I am a warrior of honor. Havok's the name and pains my game."

A stage emerges for Kabuki to dance around in. He waves and spins his hair around for a brief moment before posing.

"Kabuki is the name, and I'll bring a new wave of hair and culture crashing to this world."

All three of them got into a stage pose at the center. Alistor lost them for a brief second.

"Oh well, you look at the time! We got to get going." Auroa said.

"Hey, get back here!" Alistor shouted.

"If you want to know your first challenge. Head to the Nova Tower. Havok will be waiting for you." Kabuki last said.

"Our next set of monsters will be waiting at my tower. So you'll need to round up a solid team. If you can make it there alive, ha ha ha."

Auroa casts a vortex of air to teleport away, and the next moment they were gone.

Meanwhile... In another village, Sarah is seen contemplating alone on a hill. Holding on to an old, broken half crest-like Auroa had. A warm red scarf rests on her shoulders.

"My training with Kaida will not be wasted, so I'll be the one to finish you."

Bonus Chapter: Original Version of Ch-2

Authors Note: This was the original script I wrote back in 2013 from book 4. As you can see, there are notable differences. A lot have been changed overtime from my writing:)

At the time I did not wrote book 1 so a lot of the ideas and concepts I had at the time were very rough and not polished. This was the easiest starting point for me to write back then. The changes have been made for the best to improve the flow and development for the characters. Also, the changes where made to tie in with the events of book 1.

Chapter 2

The Awakening

Weeks not too later…Eyes opened and Alistor finds himself in the middle of the bush behind

some tree. He gets up and takes a look at his reflection across the pond by him. Aged and

completely changed. He was finally home. Somehow back in Emerald Village at last.

-Alistor-

“What happened to me? How long was I gone? My hair….It seem to gotten way longer than I

kept it. How am I back here? Was I sealed this long?”

He suddenly goes to look for the very sword he pulled.

“The Crown sword. Where is it? The very blade I pulled for Rena’s sake.” Suddenly he hears

a mysterious voice calling to him.

-Voice-

“Hear my words young adventurer. Come seek me within the temple of divinity.

The answers you seek will lie there.”

-Alistor-

“What? Who’s there?”

He suddenly hesitated.

-Voice-

“You must hurry before….. “THE POWER IS GONE!

-Alistor-

Just what is going on? How much have changed to this place? Oh well no point just sitting

around. I must go back and seek my answers.”

He heads off back through the forest west of Emerald. He quickly makes a stop by his

master’s home if any of his team was still around. With haste, he barged open the doors. Lights

off and nothing but a mess with glass and shards scattered around. Dust begins exiting the out the

doors. To his disappoint not one bit of life around.

-Alistor-

“What happened to this place? It's a mess here. Why?” He quickly turned away. “I must

press on forward. Time is waiting.”

He exits his old home and makes pace into the forest of Emerald. Through the dust barren

woods and creaking puddles. It began to rain but he couldn’t care less.

“Hopefully nothing will stand in my way.”

Somewhere from a massive dark castle floating high above…

-Kabuki-

Hoo what have we here? Come check this out on the viewing screen. Someone is

making their way to the temple.

-Auroa-

“I thought we cleared up and scared the locals out already. Didn’t we?”

He takes a good look on screen and recognizes that familiar face.

“Oh! It’s that lover boy Alistor back again.”

-Kabuki-

“You know this fellow person?” Kabuki was astonished.

-Auroa-

Know him? We use to fight together at least when the times were fine before. If memory

serves. He’s on his very quest to bring his lost love back somehow again. My old comrades did

battle against the forces of Aggerona during our time in Anneria. We even go way back when we

fought side by side during Baronia’s reign of terror. Oh….The good times never last.

-Kabuki-

I see…

-Havok-

“Wasn’t he presumed missing and long dead?” The general wondered.

-Auroa-

Yes I thought so too. How I once fought by the side as an ally. Where evil was believed to

exist but I was wrong. My my Alistor…You’ve changed quite a bit have you.

-Kabuki-

He seems to be muttering and mentioning about a Sword of great power? The Crown Sword I

believe.

-Auroa-

Oh that’s no good. A weapon of great power could be a threat to us if we let him pull through.

If he catches on with our existence. He might put a dent and slow us on our conquest invading

Mathias.

-Havok-

“Shall I go and take care of this?” He insisted.

-Auroa-

Oh no not yet. We have other matters to deal with. Instead we’ll send a monster to put him to

the test. He’s been destroying countless weapons of great power among this region since the last

few weeks.

-Havok-

You mean Golem 12? Yes why not. He’s been getting the job done so far. I have no doubt

about our monster. Last report I received was the destruction of 4 other great weapons destroyed.

We even recaptured the Rose Spirits weapons to preserve for safe keeping as you request.

-Auroa-

Yes! Limit access to as much power as possible. With limited choices for them, the better

our chance of success. I wonder if he is really serious about bringing his beloved Silver Maiden

back?

-Havok-

Still think I should go down there heh… Are you sure you don’t want me to go? I can put an

end to this now?

-Auroa-

Oh, No no no. We have bigger plans Havok. We want to still enjoy our little fun and games

causing destruction. We even must begin planning where to spread out additional bases for

other commanders across the region.

-Havok-

Aw come on! I can give him the greatest run for his life. I can show him what we’re made of.

-Kabuki-

Nah! Golem 12 will test him out. Anyway we don't have time for the lights of him. We got

our priorities and must stay on schedule. You don't need to waste your strength and power

against him.

-Havok-

Fine! No more questions. Deploy down Golem 12 for his next task. We’ll see if this Alistor

still got it.

-Kabuki-

Right away.

-Auroa-

“By the mean of time we’ll begin our next assault on Star Bark. We’ll give them a good whirl

ha ha ha.”

They begin to deploy their monster down. By that time Alistor had already arrived at the front

of the temple. He enters through the gates. In the temple a huge tablet inscribed on the walls

read.

“Only to rest in peace. It rest undisturbed in an eternal slumber.

Shrine of Divinity, Home and resting place of thy blade.”

“To seek the Legendary Crown sword rest within this shrine. Thou who seek must prepare

to pay a price.”

He finds the big door once again and unlocks it. Entering the same very room the Crown

Sword lied their awaiting. No one else was in the room.

-Alistor-

“The sword…Should I take it again?” He begins having second thoughts. He begins to

hesitate. A vision quickly comes to him.

Dream sequence…

Too afraid to take the sword after being sealed away for years. He finds himself pulled

away from the room. He tries to reach out and dash for it but the sword kept pulling farther

away from his grasp.

“The powers gone!” A voice echoed over and over to him.

Soon after a golem bursts in from the shadows to shatter the blade from a far distance. A

mocking voice laughing at him.

-Alistor-

No! I was too slow, all hope is lost now. I failed……

-Golem 12-

“Foolish boy! You’re no match for me now. Leave as the pathetic fool you are. There’s no

use mourning over it now. Mu ha ha ha ha ha. Now nothing will stop us from conquering your

world.”

He starts to lose his mind.

-Alistor-

Nooooooo!!!!!

-Golem 12-

“Mu ha ha ha ha ha ha. ha.”

Everything begins shattering from his mind. A quick spin around and collapse. Suddenly to

awake from his delusion. He wakes returns to the real world and without hesitation takes the

Crown Sword in his hands. Not to soon a Golem monster barges in to the room. The sword

gives off a radiant glow.

-Alistor-

What a new monster? Who are you? What’s the meaning of this?

-Golem 12-

So you pulled the Crown sword of legend. Let’s see if you can use it correctly. A powerful

weapon is only strong with the user that wields it.

-Alistor-

“What do you know about weapons anyway?”

The golem monster gets in a pose ready to battle.

-Golem 12-

Oh more than you think. I was sent to stop you and prevent you from obtaining that

weapon of power. It seems I was a bit too slow. Oh well no matter. Give it up now and I’ll be

kind enough to let you walk away.

-Alistor-

Sorry to disappoint, but I don’t think so.

-Golem 12-

“Very well savior of Mathias. Alistor, you destroyed the Aggerona Empire.”

Let's see how well you handle that sword.

-Alistor-

“Wait how you know my name? But how?” He was wondering.

The golem throws the first punch, but he jumped across the side to avoid the strike. The

golem swings once again punching a hole through a pillar. Raising the blade into battle, the

Crown Sword bursts with power. Ready to be put into test for battle.

“Looks like no time to ask. I got to fight him.”

-Golem 12-

I am Golem 12 of the Crystal Vortex army. The weapon destroyer to prevent all hope for

Mathias to stop our conquest in conquering this pathetic kingdom. I shall defeat you and destroy

all hope that gets in our way. Prepare yourself!!!”

They clashed in battle. Another heavy punch landing from the golem once again, Alistor takes

his first swing with the blade pushing the both of them back. Feeling awkward for the moment,

the blade nearly slipped off his fingers. Golem 12 materializes into the ground. Alistor keeps his

guard up moving his eyes around looking back and forth. A slight shake rumbles through the

floor. His attention moved towards below.

-Alistor-

“He blended in with the environment. Huh?”

The golem bursts out from the walls landing a blow at him. He was knocked back across the

rooms. Small stones begin to pummel at him from behind.

-Golem 12-

Bwah ha ha. I got you good. Give up now while you still have the chance.

-Alistor-

No never…I’m not through yet.

-Golem 12-

“Very well…Suit yourself. Time to end this.”

The golem shakes up the room. The ceiling slowly crumbling as Alistor starts to lose

balance. Rocks caving and crashing down from above. He had to duck and roll around to

suddenly to notice a back point from the bottom half of the monster’s support. He rushes to

swing at it. Unexpectedly the sword begins to emit a vast purple aura. A cutting sized laser shot

out from the blade bringing the golem down.

-Alistor-

“What was that?” He wondered. The unknown voice spoke to him.

-Voice-

“The Mirror striking technique.” Focus on it at full power. For the Silver Shrapnel

technique”

The golem got back up. Parts of his body cracking and crumbling to the ground. The

monster pulls a large stone nearby to repair its lost parts.

-Golem 12-

“Gah…Lucky shot there…..Grrh. No more messing around. Time to end this once

and for all.”

He pounds the ground hard to cause a heavy shake. Alistor stood his grounds and went in for

the final blow. Golem 12 once again concealed his body within the earth to pop up from

somewhere else.

-Alistor-

“No you won’t. That same trick twice on me.” He slams his blade at the ground

unleashing the mirror cutting technique. Two pair of energy comes crushing at the ground.

The shaking finally stops forcing the monster back out into the open.

-Golem 12-

How can this be?

-Alistor-

“Time to end this.”

A great amount of energy begins building across Alistor and his blade bonded and in synch

together. The golem starts to hesitate.

-Golem 12-

“I’m not through yet.”

The monster begins hurling chunks of levitating stones at Alistor, but the emitting energy

from the Crown Sword was great enough to push it all back.

-Alistor-

Yes I feel it inside me. The power and hope that shines across. This sword will be the hope

to bring Rena back.

-Golem 12-

“Curse you! I’m not through yet.” He stomped and pounds in rage. “I must destroy that

sword. Must complete mission. For the Crystal Vortex!

“FAILIURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!”

The golem rushes at Alistor for one final blow focusing all his power on one arm. Earth and

dust swirling across the room.

-Alistor-

“You’re through!”

Both attacks clashed with one another in a force of power and struggle. The Golems arm

begins to c***k away as it pierced through. His whole arm breaks off as the attack rams

through his core supporting his structure at the bottom. His center torso begins to slowly crumble

splitting in half. He was falling apart as he attempts to reach out for Alistor with his other

hand still intact.

-Golem 12-

“No! Must destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Curse your new bound powers…

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”

Golem 12's head then fell to the floor rolling across the ground before his whole body

explodes in a dramatic fashion.

-Alistor-

“Yes…. I won, phew…”

His hair got in his face as he flicks it back in a fashion as he sheathed his blade. A new room

suddenly reveals itself beyond the chamber. He hears that same voice calling to him. A spirit

waiting at the center for him. It was the very protector of the blade itself.

“So you’re the one been calling I see.”

-Spirit of the sword-

“Chosen one who carries this sword. I am a descendant of this Crown blade You proven

yourself and passed the first trial. I have seen through your heart and desires contempt.

You seek to bring a loved one you dearly care back.”

He approaches the spirit with contempt.

-Alistor-

So why was I sealed away for four years? Why did I had to wait this long to begin my quest?

Answer me?

-Spirit of the sword-

“Ah yes…. I understand your disdain. You see, you were just too young at the time of 17.

Your body couldn’t have handled the blades immense power and even if you tried you would

have died either way. So I kept your soul within this blade till you were ready. Didn’t you read?

any of the warnings inscribed in the temple?”

That caught him completely off in embarrassment.

-Alistor-

Well that wasn’t on my mind at the time...

-Spirit of the sword-

Well…I see you’re not of an Annerian blood. What is a non Annerian doing with that key

anyway? I don’t understand. It’s only passed through family generations.

-Alistor-

I received it from Lord Tiramisu of Anneria after the great war between Anneria and

Moon’s force of Aggerona. I fought alongside the Silver Maiden.

-Spirit of the sword-

“Did you say Silver Maiden?”

The spirit was surprised.

-Alistor-

Yes….Hate to admit. I unexpectedly fell for her and this was how I got here. She sacrificed

her life for me and there was no other way they could have wanted to repay for our victory

that was short lived.

-Spirit of the sword-

I see… Very well. Strange for this blade to be passed down to a non-bloodline.

-Alistor-

How so? Then why is this temple on Mathias grounds anyway?

-Spirit of the sword-

Fair enough I guess…. Well that doesn’t matter anymore. I ‘ll pass on the powers of this

blade rested in me. Master it with your all might.

-Alistor-

“Thank you? I guess….”

The spirit then disappears echoing its last words.

-Spirit of the sword-

You prove your worth to reclaim this blade after I sent you back to your hometown.

Seek the 3 Crystals you must for Rena’s sake. A new journey begins for you. Best of luck.

You now hold the key to your destiny.

-Alistor-

“I will. Rena…Just you wait. I’ll be there for you.”

He leaves the room and soon encounters a familiar face. It was the Kings advisor Alshrya.

He rushes his way to greet him.

-Alistor-

It’s you! Long time no see old man.

-Alshrya-

Oh Alistor it's good to see you’ve returned. Where have you been all these years?

-Alistor-

“Long story short.” He explains everything.

-Alshrya-

I see… Oh and I was good. Nothing more than watching over these lands for the last four

years. Mathias has recovered since then. So you’re really determined about obtaining the powers

from this blade for Rena huh?

-Alistor-

Yeah you can say I’m crazy about her.

-Alshrya-

“Heh heh heh.” He chuckled. Last time we met I remembered a boy and now your

of man. You kids grow up fast.”

The two continue to catch up as they walk out from the temple through the forest path. They

make their way back to Emerald with the people finally back from hiding in fear.

-Alistor-

“I see…” He took a moment of silence having learned of Sairori’s passing.

-Alshrya-

The princess also has been fine but worried about you after you returned from Anneria.

-Alistor-

“Amalthea? Meh… I couldn’t care less what she thinks heh. So where’s Chris or Auroa

anyway? If you said they’re still around.”

Alshrya came to a sudden stand still. Everything went quiet and tense.

-Alshrya-

“Oh well Chris is out somewhere to discover his past origins and stuff, but Auroa....”

A tense chill from the air passed by.

-Alistor-

Come on break it to me.

-Alshrya-

“Auroa...... I’m afraid he had fallen into the darkness.”

A moment of breaking silence.

-Alistor-

What! No! This can't be! He would never..... Chris and him where the best of

friends. How could this have happened? Where is he now?

-Alshrya-

Prepare to face your next greatest challenge yet. A new evil have descended upon us as of

now. They are known as the Crystal Vortex and they took Mathias by storm. That monster you

just faced in the temple was a vile creation made from him.

-Alistor-

What no way? He never had that kind of power. He would never…. Why? Just why?

-Alshrya-

“Alistor, listen carefully as what I’m going to tell you. Yes this is hard to believe

but it’s true. A new line of ascending evil threatens Mathias once more. The Auroa

you once knew is no longer of this world. He has become a monster of his own hands.”

He was having trouble digesting all this information in as the truth.

“Resources and towns have been attacked throughout this region by them. Many have lost

their lives already.”

-Alistor-

“Ok so how do I get to them? Maybe I can talk over with him somehow…”

Alshrya only nodded.

-Alshrya-

I’m afraid it won’t be easy as it sounds. Auroa has a fortress with an impenetrable dark

barrier surrounding it. The Crystal Vortex’s castle stands high above Mathias shadowing over

the fields.

-Alistor-

Damn…So any way to dispel the barrier?

-Alshrya-

“Yes I was getting to that.” He hands something to him.

“What you hold in your hand is a Crystal key. There are 7 of them that you must obtain to

take down that barrier and reach him. You must stop them. This Crystal key will bring you one

step closer to them.

-Alistor-

Thanks! So…Where is the next closest key I can reach from here?

-Alshrya-

“Why the closest one would be near Star bark village. It’s a slight walk from here. From our

intelligence it was said to rest on top the shooting star summit. But be careful that area was

recently attacked by the Crystal Vortex army. It’s bound to be guarded.”

He turned around.

“Well I’ll be off returning to the Kingdom and report the news of your return. If things get

tough don’t be ashamed to fall back. Take it easy.”

-Alistor-

“Okay will do, and thanks again.”

They both waved and went separate paths. The clouds cleared away and the sun shined

out for the start of a new day. Feeling the breeze of a fresh new air through the long flocks of

his blue hair.

“Auroa..... What has happened to you? Alright! Off to Star Bark it is.”

Somewhere back at the enemy dark fortress…

-Kabuki-

It seems we’ve underestimated him. We come back from Star Bark and this is what we
