Bonus Chapter: Original Version of Ch-11

Author’s Note: This was the original script I wrote back in 2013 from book 4. As you can see, there are notable differences. A lot have been changed overtime from my writing:) At the time I did not wrote book 1 so a lot of the ideas and concepts I had at the time were very rough and not polished. This was the easiest starting point for me to write back then. The changes have been made for the best to improve the flow and development for the characters. Also, the changes where made to tie in with the events of Book 1.

Chapter 11

Kabuki T.V

Somewhere in a city far off from the shores of Mathias. On an island cluttered with buildings

with neon lined up like dominoes. At the heart sits a large Pagoda tower with a hanging satellite

emitting different waves and frequencies. The light suddenly goes out.

-Kabuki-

Time to commence the operation.

-Auroa-

It’s time to shine. The next wave at your command.

-Kabuki-

“It’s show time!”

The lights comes back on and the next moment a change in the broadcast wave. A huge city

takeover. Waves of Vortex soldiers begin storming the streets, gear ships begin descending down

with a large stage set. Kabuki and Auroa makes their way to the top of the tower. High winds

breezing by from the ocean’s horizon. Kabuki has both hands in the air as the music begins

playing. He begins dancing across the stage making his broadcast debut. A loud cheer within

the crowd below as a hair band begins playing in the background.

-Kabuki-

“Kabuki here! Sorry for the interruption of your usual broadcast but now it's all ours. Rod

City is part of the Crystal Vortex now and you can't do anything about it. Muahahaha.”

With a microphone on one hand he continues ranting at the crowd while more high winds

begin blowing down. Back from all across Mathias many where left either surprised or

speechless. Some even confused or scared for no good reason.

-Kabuki-

“So you think your hot stuff then come down here. I got something in store for you all.”

The 5th and 6th Crystal key in their possession gets showcased on screen. Alistor and Katty

sits at Tazuma’s bar witnessing all of it on screen.

-Katty-

You got to be kidding me…

-Alistor-

After Havok, now he wants of piece of us. Fine if it’s that way.

-Katty-

Two crystal keys? They’re obviously trying too hard trying to bait us. Any way they can make

our day possibly worse?

-Kabuki-

“Time for the Iron Curtain.”

They all witness the site of Auroa showcasing a bit of his powers. Six cyclones start to

form across the sea circling around the island.

-Alistor-

“Sigh…You had to open your big mouth.” He sarcastically said.

Kabuki continues to dance on screen in spotlight as many are annoyed about their usual

broadcast being messed around with. He comes to a sudden halt to give a shout out for Alistor.

-Kabuki-

“If you think you got the guts then come down here. I’ll be waiting. Bring your rag

tag of a team and you’ll get a show you’ll never forget. Kabuki out so stay tuned.”

The screen goes off air with only music to be playing. From another village Winoa is seen in

tears for missing her favorite pastime show. Sarah could have hardly even cared.

-Winoa-

“No!!!!! I can’t miss this episode of “All my hearts”. The season finale, Noooo!! Now I’ll

never find out if Michelle ever find her way back to Mike and make up. Kabuki I hate you so

very much.”

She starts to bang at the T.V but it was hopeless. The screen suddenly comes back on. A

series of commercial broadcasts airs to promote big hair sponsored by the Crystal Vortex. Sarah

pulls her away from the T.V.

-Sarah-

Come on! We should get going. No use moaning over your romantic drama.

-Winoa-

“You and Auroa are a bad romance drama.” She blurted.

She gets immediately bashed over the head by Sarah’s fist. A small slight bruise on her head

as she begins rubbing it.

“Ow! You didn’t have to hit so hard.”

-Sarah-

“Well sorry humph. Auroa, just what the hell you up to this time?”

They both make their leave to meet up at the castle of Mathias as planned. Alistor and Katty

where there by Alshrya’s side. A familiar faces as well. Commander Victoria who helped

lead the way during Moons invasion of Anneria.

“Well, long time no see.”

-Winoa-

“Victoria, it’s been quite a while. How has Aquaria been?”

Victoria took a moment to catch up with them slightly as she glanced to notice Alistor and his

team as well.

-Victoria-

Long time no see Alistor. My you’ve changed. Since that very day we last fought for Anneria,

how have you been?

-Alistor-

I’ve been okay I guess…

-Victoria-

You still miss Rena…I’m sorry for your loss.

-Alistor-

Yeah….But hey! Things have been getting crazy since then. Nearly got killed by a man

wielding Umbrella’s and we recently defeated Havok.

-Victoria-

Yes I’ve heard.

-Katty-

“Hey! Don’t forget I was the one that saved your hide from battle.”

Suddenly the King comes in accompanied by Princess Amalthea. Everything in the room

comes to a sudden halt of silence. Victoria goes to deliver her speech to them with

representatives from Aquaria and Earthbound village.

-Victoria-

As you now know the threat of The Crystal Vortex been growing dire. Ever since the day we

defeated Moon ending Aggerona’s reign there has never been a day that our peace was

threatened. Four years later and now one of our very own turns against us. His name is Auroa.

I’ll tell you what we’ve uncovered. Today he refers to himself as “Windruler”. It is unknown

how he accumulated such much power within four year of time. Alistor and Katty, we ran a

detailed analysis on your team’s history.

-Katty-

Oh really now?

-Victoria-

You’ve trained under Sairori who we honor for his great deal of service to our kingdom. He is

in our debt. From his recent passing he’ll be missed. Thanks to Chris he have provided us some

info about the Vortex.

-Alistor-

Wait Chris? He’s still around?

-Victoria-

Yes! But he’s currently undercover. We’ve been trying to track the rest of your teams

whereabouts since the last war. So far we know Zolhalla is serving as a loyal knight under Elena

from Anneria.

-Alistor-

And Tannen? What about him? Or Steffbird?

-Victoria-

Sadly we have no info on Tannen or Steffbird’s whereabouts. They were last seen four years

ago heading off sea on another venture. We’ve uncovered some past documents that Tannen’s

true name and identity is actually Teirdalin.

-Katty-

“Well that’s weird. So, where does this leave us? What more do we know about Auroa. Why

is he doing this and how did he gain all this power?”

Lots of speculation was going throughout the room.

She brings out a picture to present to them.

-Victoria-

Chris was able to take this before he disappeared. The message was rather delivered urgently.

This is a shot of Auroa during his assault on Flame heart.

-Alistor-

What the heck is that?

-Katty-

Some kind of big dark figure is behind him. I can’t tell more from that bright red glare

coming from the center.

-Victoria-

It’s possible that we’re dealing with more than just the Crystal Vortex.

-Amalthea-

“Already two of our nation’s greatest armies have already been eliminated. What will be our

next course of action?”

The King was not at ease to decide what was best next.

-Victoria-

“I represent for Aquaria so I say our nation should remain close and merge together if we’re

goanna stand against the enemy. The casualties have never been this great since Moon’s

madness.”

She immediately points out to Alistor and his party.

-Alistor-

Okay so what is it?

-Victoria-

You guys are goanna take their bait and head out to Rod City. A ship will be provided for

your team. We must stop that radio broadcast as soon as possible.

-Katty-

“What? Are you serious?” He hesitantly reacted. “That would be complete suicide. Didn’t

you see six cyclones walling the island off? I don’t want to play into their obvious trap.”

-Alistor-

Is there any other options?

-Victoria-

We’re already aware, but there’s more.

-Katty-

“Like what?” He gives himself a facepalm.

-Victoria-

We’ve intercepted a message from one of the Vortex minions down by Glacier.

Rod and Glacier may be under the enemy control but, they have something big in store. This

whole radio broadcast is a diversion to throw us off course.

-Alistor-

So a diversion? What can you tell us about their real plan?

-Victoria-

It’s still classified. That’s why we’ll tail you off from a distance before you reach Rod city.

It’s a short two hour ride from ship to get there.

-Katty-

“Um is anyone still forgetting there’s still a wall of tornado’s to get through?” He

sarcastically pointed out.”

Sarah brought something out to present to them.

-Alistor-

“It looks like a fog sphere Auroa use to carry, but this one’s burning though.”

They took a moment to gander at it.

-Sarah-

Yes it’s similar to the fog sphere but works differently. An old heirloom from my village

that will allow you safe access through Auroa’s vortex, but it only works only for a short period

of time.

-Katty-

Now you had to mention….

-Sarah-

You just have to throw it and it will absorb all that energy from the vortex. Just don’t be slow.

Here I’ll give it to Winoa to accompany you. Heh she’s eager to go.

-Winoa-

Don’t worry Sarah, I won’t fail you. I’m goanna make Kabuki pay in the name of justice for

messing with “All my hearts”.

-Sarah-

“Knock yourself out.”

She tosses the sphere for Winoa to catch.

-Victoria-

Now go! Time is waiting.

Alistor and his team take their leave from the castle palace and heads out to the docking bay.

Along with Winoa leading the way it was going to be a long day. Sarah receives a package from

Amalthea and the King and opens it immediately.

-Sarah-

No way…can it be.

-Amalthea-

Yes! It’s the final heirloom from your village. Before your parents passing they wished to

pass this scroll down to you.

-Sarah-

The Eternal Dragon scroll, but that technique is banned. It’s too powerful.

-Victoria-

“We know, but the situation with Auroa has gone too far. He is at a whole different level

and if you wish to defeat him you must master it. If it was someone worthy of mastering this

technique would be you. Why else would Auroa have kept you alive this long. You are his one

and only true rival. If someone was going to defeat him it has to be you.”

A small tear drop from Sarah’s eye.

-Sarah-

“Thank you…Thank you so very much. I will cherish this forever.”

She takes her leave to return to the remains of her fallen village. Meanwhile back downtown

on the streets of Mathias, Alistor and the team takes a stroll by. T.V’s all around and Kabuki’s

face appearing all over the screens dancing.

-Winoa-

“Just look at him. He’s really asking for it. For messing with “All my hearts” I’m goanna take

him down.”

Katty looks at her strangely.

-Katty-

What’s with “All my hearts”? You’re really obsessed with it. Isn’t it just a show?

-Winoa-

“Not just only a show. It’s a female’s all-time favorite romance drama. Where a young

couple fights for each other’s affections despite all the odds that come against them. It’s every

girl little dream to fight in the name of love.”

She continues to blab on and on while Katty and the rest pretend to listen.

Suddenly Kabuki stops on screen to make another brief announcement. A crowd of cheering

people coming from the local card shop they took notice to pass by.

-Kabuki-

“Okay folks! That’s it for now on our big hair and metal segment. Hope you enjoy and now

it’s time to get into the disco inferno. But first here’s here’s a block of paid advertisements. So

stay tuned hoo hoo hoo.”

The screen went white and soon a commercial starts airing. Katty’s jaw dropped the moment

the first one aired. Pink and bubbling background. It was a soap advertisement featuring a fat

businessman. The Card shop owner in a bathtub.

-Katty-

You got to be kidding me…

-Card Shop Owner-

“Waaay out! I’m on T.V. It’s Fresh! Fresh! Crisp and Clean. A fresh one!”

The party immediately passes the crowd outside by the shop.

-Katty-

Okay Winoa he needs to be stopped. You got a point. Let’s do this then.

-Winoa-

“Good! Let’s go crash the party.”

They leave town and head out through the fields and no time sooner arrived at the docking

bay. A ship in wait for them to board as they easily depart to sea.

-Alistor-

Hey one question. If Rod city and Kabuki is an entire distraction. Why would they even

bother setting a defense to wall us off anyway?

-Swifter-

“Yeah that’s what I’m wondering too. Could it be a pure coincidence?”

Swifter and Plasmus were getting skeptical as well while Winoa and Katty continue to brag

on about the T.V and commercials airing.

-Alistor-

“Hmm I’m getting a little tired, time for a small nap. Katty wake me when we get there.”

He went down to the room and closed his eyes. While napping Katty and Winoa kept watch as

Swifter and Plasmus occupy themselves with a game of poker like the rest of the party use to

do while away at sea.

-Katty-

“Sigh…It would be nice if Chris was still around with us. It’s so quiet without him. I wonder

where he could be right now. Because we’ll need all the help we can get.”

Returning back with Auroa and Kabuki from Rod City. Vortex soldiers along with a group of

previously used monster were lined up finishing up a skit.

-Kabuki-

“And that’s a wrap for now. Good job everybody. The ratings are skyrocketing like they

never where before. Income is increasing greatly from paid ads. We’re going on up and they

want more ha ha ha.”

The crowd of monsters begins cheering.

-Auroa-

Yes, phase 1 of our plan is complete. We need to begin phase 2 of our operation. The mining

process for the Prism shall begin.

-Kabuki-

Yes we’ll get to that. Our team has already begun the digging. Alistor and the rest of his

team is already at sea as expected.

-Auroa-

“Good, everything is going to plan. Our secret weapon will commence. Hm someone is

missing?”

Auroa looks at the crystal ball in his hands. Sarah was nowhere to be seen on board with the

rest of Alistor’s team. He swirls the sphere in his cold hands to locate her.

-Kabuki-

Something the matter?

-Auroa-

“So, she’s back over there…It’s nothing Kabuki. Continue as planned.”

Suddenly they are contacted by Darcus and his team on screen.

-Kabuki-

What’s the urgent the call commander?

-Darcus-

“Aquaria and Earthbound began engaging with our units down by Glacier. We acquire some

assistance, Havok’s in no condition to be leading command.”

There was a slight grin of laugher between Auroa and the rest of the monster crowd.

-Kabuki-

So the rest of the nation’s army has begun merging to take us out. We seem to catch quite

the attention.

-Auroa-

To steal the show hoo hoo yes. Not to fear! I will take leave and dispatch my units to assist

you. Focus the entire defense on the Ice Palace.

-Darcus-

“Very well! We’ll rendezvous by the palace. All fortifications to the Ice Palace. Team

Darcus! Fall back. “

Auroa begun to take leave with a group of monsters. All was playing out in the Crystal

Vortex favor.

-Auroa-

“Kabuki I leave the rest of Rod City in your hands. Fare thee well.”

He teleports away within an instant stream of a vortex. Kabuki turns to watch Alistor and

the team’s progress closing in by the tornado border.

Alistor was still asleep, Katty rush into wake him.

-Alistor-

What is it?

-Katty-

We’re here! Winoa’s about to throw the sphere.

-Winoa-

“Here goes!”

She tosses it and misses the point. They get instantly dragged in by the storm. The sea turns

to a void of darkness and purple lighting raining down. Thrown off course the ship gets torn

in an instant causing everyone to round up washed somewhere unknown.

-Alistor-

“Where are we?”

It was raining heavy, dark pitch of purple clouds and the sound of lightning all around.

There was only a cave by the island. Only Katty and Winoa were at his side. Swifter and the rest

of the ship crew was nowhere to be seen.

-Katty-

Should we check it out?

-Winoa-

“Well it’s better than being soaked up and wet.”

The three entered the unknown cave. A bright and green incandescent chamber caught their

eyes to go check out.

-Katty-

So how do you think we’ll be making it back? I knew this was bad idea. Yeah relying on

an old object to pass through a wall of tornados. Not the best idea.

-Alistor-

“I don’t even know… Let’s hope for the best.”

The moment they entered the room, filled by green and glowing acid. There stood a

huge chest at the heart of the room. Four pillars circled across foundation. Winoa doesn’t hesitate

to open it.

-Alistor-

“Hey wait! It could be dangerous.”

She pulls something out that apparently seems to be useless.

-Winoa-

“What? A pack of cards? How is this going to help?”

She starts to flap it around while Katty was feeling all hope was lost. Alistor immediately

notices a shadow approaching from above and jumps back. He couldn’t believe who it was.

-Alistor-

“Of all the people… Screw this, no! I’m not doing this all over again.”

It was none other than the Umbrella Master. In a different tone of color and clothing than

their last encounter. He was fired up and ready for more.

-Umbrella master-

Oh yes it is. Think you can barge in my secret training regimen?

-Winoa-

“Who is this guy?” She asked.

The Umbrella master begins to twirl his umbrellas around. She couldn’t take him pretty

seriously till he knocked her back with one whack.

-Umbrella master-

“Your worst nightmare that is. Umbrella Master 2.0! I’m back for more and this time I will

finish you off. Congratulations! You found this optional area that isn’t mandatory for your

adventure. Prepare to die!”

He charges in fully powered and knocks Katty and Winoa out in a mere instant. All she could

do was toss the pack of cards at him before fainting.

-Alistor-

“No! No! No! This can’t be happening.”

His mind was starting to mess with him. Umbrella master was all over the place mocking at

him across the room.

-Umbrella Master-

“Prepare yourself, I told you I’ll be back.”

He gets ready to deliver a strike at him. The next instant everything went blank and Alistor

felt a whack on his head before falling off the couch. He was awake back on board. Katty was at

his side.

-Katty-

“Good you’re finally awake. We’re here! By the vortex border. Come on Winoa’s about to

throw it.”

-Alistor-

I had one of the worst dreams possible.

-Katty-

Tell me about it. You we’re whining in your sleep. Was it Rena beating you this time?

-Alistor-

“Even worse! It was Umbrella man. I can’t bear to fight that guy again.”

Katty had a small laugh about it as Winoa tosses the sphere into the vortex powered by the

cast of her air. The burning sphere impacts the cyclone causing a huge burst of fire inside the

tornado. A huge fire in the shape of a long dragon streams through the six cyclones weakening

all the power fueling it. Each cyclone begins to dissipate calmly as the ship passes safely and

arrives on shore. They looked back to notice the cyclones no longer existent.

-Plasmus-

It’s all gone. I thought she said the sphere was only temporary.

-Winoa-

Yes! Your right but Auroa must no longer be here. He was the one powering them up.

-Katty-

Yeah I remember now. While you were asleep Alistor we notice a huge stream of lights

leaving the island. Auroa must have teleported away. That means this leaves us with Kabuki to

deal with.

-Alistor-

Well let’s not keep him waiting. We got a show to crash.

-Winoa-

“Let’s go kick his butt.”

The five make their way into the city of Rod. Filled with neon lights Kabuki face appeared

big high up on a large screen monitor laughing at them. A can of D2 energy drink is in his hands

promoting the old drink Moon created four years back. Alistor could not have remembered even

more. A row of vortex soldiers stands in their path as they prepare to engage in battle. ‘

-Katty-

“Just like the old times. Let’s do this.”

-Alistor-

“I got your back; we’ll just have to fight our way to the radio tower.”

They take the first dive into battle with the first strike. The fate for Rod city rest in their

hands.
