Dan arrived in New York and was taken straight to Pace University’s city campus where Inside the Actors Studio was filmed. He stood in the green room listening to his host’s introduction and readied himself for the interview. It was a big deal being invited to discuss his career with the Actors Studio drama students – all the Hollywood greats had done it. James Lipton, the host, was an industry institution whose somewhat paused and clipped delivery of his trademark index card questions made him unique. He had captured some of the most intimate and in-depth interviews ever recorded, and was famous for the ten-question quiz he posed to each guest.
