CHAPTER 56
“Look,” Jem whispered. He pointed at the top right-hand corner of the dilapidated barn.
Josh swung his head around and adjusted his night-vision goggles. “What? Can’t see anything.”
“Mr J,” Jem shook James Jenner awake. It was three o’clock in the morning and they were camping out on the Riverside estate for the fifth night in a row.
James woke with a start and sat up, catching his head on the top of the tent. “What now?” he asked groggily.
“We’ve found something.” Jem was excited. He thrust his goggles at James and pointed to the area of the barn where the activity was taking place.
“Oh, goodness,” James exclaimed. “Maybe you boys were right after all. I was beginning to think this was a wild goose chase.”
