The wind was howling and the rain lashing down as, one by one, the villagers trudged into the barn at Appleton Manor for the latest meeting of the RFC. The second planning meeting was coming up and they needed to be ready.
“Can we do this in the pub next time?” Will shouted from the back of the barn. “It’s bloody freezing in here.”
“The whole point is that we’re supposed to be meeting secretly,” Andrea replied. “It’s hardly a clandestine meeting if any Tom, d**k or Harry can walk in.”
