CHAPTER 106
Georgiana sat bolt upright in bed and reached for the bedside light. Next to her she could feel Lady shaking. She gasped when she heard a noise from downstairs and was rooted to the spot.
She had watched Dan on television just before she had gone to bed and there was no way he could have got back from London so quickly. She checked her watch. It was two o’clock – the middle of the night.
Another noise came from outside the bedroom door and she froze. Panic washed over her and she scrabbled around frantically for her mobile phone. “s**t,” she whispered. She had left it downstairs and the phone in the bedroom was yet to be unpacked from its box.
