Two weeks before the wedding, Victoria officially became the new CEO of Whitmore Holdings.
She invited Adrian and me to dinner. Before we left, she handed me an old digital camcorder.
"Consider it a wedding gift."
I looked at the camera. "What's inside?"
"Go home and watch it yourself."
Adrian glanced at the gift box in my arms. His expression immediately became suspicious.
"Victoria gave that to you?"
"Yes."
"Don't like her too much."
I burst out laughing. "Are you jealous?"
"She stole my horse when we were kids. And she pushed me into a lake once."
"And?"
"People from the Whitmore family are all trouble."
