Just like sands in an hourglass, so the days fly by in an instant. The bus stopped in front of the school and one by one the students walked out.
It was exactly 7:25 in the morning and the bell would ring within a few minutes. You can see students running towards the school gate. One of them was blocked by a student council because of not wearing an ID.
Despite the panicked students, Heather was walking slowly and looking listless towards her classroom. From the distance, she can see her group of friends blocking the middle path of the hallway and bullying female students. When the girls noticed her presence, Margaux smirked at Heather and headed towards her.
"Oh look, who's here? Done reflecting on your life?"
Cindy, who was sitting on the railings, jumped down and took her bag.
"Where have you been? You've been absent for a week. I thought you were dead! It's a pity. You didn't make it through the welcome program, there are so many handsome freshmen guys this year!"
"Heh! What else? She went looking for her prince charming everywhere. So, did you find him?"
Ethan asked and took her hand, then pulled her down into her chair. Heather didn't say a word and only sighed in response.
Margaux sat down at Heather's desk and crossed her arms.
"Tsk, don't even think about it. Do you think this kind of face looks attractive? Where, which part? All I can see is the word ugly all over her face!"
She said as she pinched her chin and shook her head from left to right. Heather slapped her wrist and she pushed her away from her desk.
"Scram."
"Oh? Isn't it?"
"f**k you."
Her friends laughed and continued teasing her until the school bell rang. After hearing the familiar sound, her friends immediately returned to their own seats and took their makeup kits.
"Oh s**t! Heather watches outside and tells us if Teacher Jay is already there! Hey, lend me your lipstick!"
"Do you think my eyebrows are good? Do I look alright?"
Ethan asked as he angled his eyebrows.
"Hah! Ugly. Your face is so f*****g ugly!"
Jayvie West was the new English Teacher of Class 3-1. He is a Filipino-American with natural blue eyes, a pointed nose and a man with a very tall stature. He is 189 cm tall.
Because of his good looks and gentle personality, many female students immediately fell in love with him from the very first day. If he is the god that women worship, he is the most hated by men. They only feel envy and resentment over him. Well, that's the perk of being handsome.
Come to think of it, Heather was one of those students back then chasing over this man. But not now, because she already has someone else on her mind.
'sigh.'
Heather just shrugged her shoulders and didn't pay attention to them anymore. She put her left arm on the table and rested her head on it.
She was depressed and sad at the same time 'cause until now, she didn't know the whereabouts of the guy. She had done every possible thing just to find that guy but she just couldn't find him anywhere.
"I miss him. I wanna see him so badly."
Heather whispered sadly while clutching the necklace in her pocket. She tried to recall the man's handsome face and his sweet smile, and her mouth instantly hooked up.
But eventually her face sank and let out a depressed sigh again. As she was immersed in her own thoughts, she felt someone sitting next to her.
When the teacher first stepped into the classroom, the first thing that dawned on him was the huge smiles and excited gazes of his students. He smiled back and waved at them in a familiar way.
He greeted his students with 'good morning' and started the roll call to check who was present and absent. One by one, he mentioned the students starting with the surname A. A short time later, Heather's name was called.
"Everton, Heather.
"....."
"Everton..Is Miss Everton here?"
Jay received no response from the student, and the people in the classroom all looked at their back. Margaux, who was sitting in front of her, glanced at the sleeping Heather.
"Tsk, this b***h ..."
Margaux secretly kicked the foot of her desk while the rest of her friends started calling her in a low voice to wake her up.
"Heather, wake up! The teacher is calling you!"
When Heather heard the noise, she raised her right hand and said "Here" without looking up.
"It looks like Miss Everton is still drowsy and not yet ready for lessons. Do you guys feel the same?
"Yes!!"
"Okay. Since the class isn't official yet and we still don't know each other, why don't we skip our morning lesson and spend our time by introducing ourselves to me? It will help everyone to build trust and have unity with each other. Do you all agree?
"Yes sir!!"
The students cheered and nodded happily.
"Alright. Starting with Mr Ferrer. Please introduce yourself.
"Yes."
Heather felt the person next to her move. She would have ignored it when she heard the familiar deep and melodious voice coming from the man.
"Hi, I'm Josh Ferrer, 17."
What he said was so short that they thought he had more to say. But when they saw that he had already pulled up his chair and sat on it, they dismissed the idea and just looked ahead.
"Your name sounds familiar. Mr. Josh Ferrer, Josh... Ferrer. The heir of Crown Entertainment?"
Jayvie was momentarily shocked and looked at him surprisingly.
"Hm."
After hearing his short reply, his classmates expressed their admiration for the company. Showing faces of various reactions such as shock, amazement, envy, contempt and ambition.
These are only natural because Crown Entertainment is one of the most popular companies in the country. Many well-known artists and famous celebrities debuted with this company. That is because of its 'good reputation'.
Every trainee at Crown Entertainment has a high possibility of being famous after debuting. They also give the artists great opportunities, good works and guaranteed popularity. That's why the Crown is the number one choice for young dreamers who want to be a star.
Little did they know, being an artist of this company would be the start of your nightmare. Because signing a contract means also selling your body and soul to them.
How? Nothing much.
You will just learn how to behave like an animal, act like an animal and be an animal itself. Self-respect and dignity is uncommon in the entertainment industry.
Josh just smiled superficially when he witnessed the greedy expressions of his classmates.
'fools'
Josh sneered and opened his textbook. When the teacher saw that he had no plans to talk anymore, he clapped his hands to get their attention. They soon returned to their discussion and continued introducing themselves.
Josh was in the middle of reading when he suddenly felt a burning gaze from his left side. He waited for a few minutes but the uncomfortable gaze remained the same.
Such a deep and focused gaze couldn't help but make his scalp numb with goosebumps. He felt like he was being stripped naked.
Annoyed, Josh turned his head to grasp the culprit's gaze. His eyebrows twitched when he saw the woman and didn't even bother avoiding his gaze and just stared at him stupidly.
"What."
After his words were spoken, immediately the girl's face changed. Her eyes widened and grinned at him widely, showing her full white teeth.
"It's you! Found you! Hehehehe."
Josh was taken aback by her creepy laugh and felt a sudden chill in his back.
A minute passed and her expression changed again into a happy one. She dragged her chair closer to his and looked at him with a hint of happiness and excitement in her eyes.
"My God! Can you believe that?! We're actually classmates. And you're my seatmate, dang!
"....."
"Why didn't you call me? Don't you know how much I've tried to find you?! Argh! You're so annoying! But it's okay, since you're cute, I'll forgive you.
"...."
"Oh yeah, I forgot you don't have my number. Do you wanna add each other on messenger? Wait! Wait a moment! Those bitches, they never told me that you're....."
All along, Josh was speechless. He's just staring dumbly at the girl next to him blabbing nonsense non-stop.
'What the f**k are you talking about? What do you mean by looking for me? Who the heck are you? And why are you acting so familiar all of a sudden? Shut up, you're so loud.'
He looked closely at her face but he really couldn't remember where and when he had met this crazy woman. The girl noticed his gaze and opened her mouth.
"Oh. Give me a second. I'll just send a message to my friends, alright baby?"
The girl whispered in a coquettish voice and winked at him.
'f**k'
Josh shuddered and subconsciously rubbed his arms.
She raised her head and grinned at him mischievously. He felt that the woman was about to say inhuman things again. Thankfully, she was interrupted by their teacher's voice.
"Okay class, since there's still time left before our class ends. Get your textbooks and spend the rest of the time on self-study. And tomorrow, we're going to have a pre-test."
His classmates emitted a few grunts while others reluctantly took their things out.
The same thing goes for the girl sitting next to him. He heard her curse twice and regretfully took her textbook out of her bag with remorse.
'Phew thank god!'
Josh sighed in relief. He took out the flashcards hidden in his breast pocket and started memorizing some English words to expand his vocabulary.
'Argh damn studying. Why am I even doing this in the first place?'
"Courageous - brave, valiant, presumptuous ..."
"Shreeekkk.."
Josh paused when he heard a faint sound of something being torn.
"Tsiikk ... tssiikk.."
He shifted his head a bit and saw from his peripheral vision that the woman was writing something on the crookedly teared paper.
'so ugly'
Josh frowned a bit and just decided to mind his own business.
"Brave, valiant, presumptuous, heroic, pluc ...."
"Crookkkk..."
Josh stopped again and looked at the person next to him who was currently rummaging inside her bag.
"Ehem.."
He coughed to get her attention. Then, he saw her tear off another piece of paper again and scribbled her pen while knitting her eyebrows as if she scribbled something serious.
Josh snorted, put his attention to the flashcards and read again.
"Presump- -"
A crumpled piece of paper hit his head and his face immediately darkened.
Later, he heard the familiar grunting and tearing of paper for the third time, as well as its noisy writing.
"Shreeekkkkk...."
"..."
Josh closed his eyes and gritted his teeth.
'Ah damn it.'
He took a deep breath to calm himself down.
'Okay Josh. Just endure it a bit, maybe she'll finish doodling after a while.', he thought.
~ ~ ~
Half an hour passed when he no longer heard the rustling noise beside him. His head was lightly drooping, he almost fell asleep.
Out of nowhere, he received a strong blow in his chest that made him open his eyes in an instant.
"Euukkk!!"
Stunned, he lifted his chin and looked at the person next to him with disbelief.
'What kind of woman has this kind of strength?!'
He looked down and saw her thin and small wrist. He looked at her again and rubbed his pained chest.
Suddenly, he saw her raise her hand once more. Thinking about what happened earlier and her incredible arm strength, he abruptly raised his arms at the same time to block his face.
To his surprise, he saw a piece of wrinkled paper in front of him. He gave a quick glance at her and slowly took the letter, looking puzzled.
"Uh.. thanks..."
The girl didn't answer him and just giggled softly. Thinking about his embarrassing actions a while ago, he scratched his head while opening the letter.
What he saw first was the words ''I" and "U" with a crookly drawn heart shaped in the middle. And in the left corner, a pink kiss mark was imprinted on it.
"...."
Josh moved his gaze down and started reading the messy handwriting written below. Half-way through, his eyes reading the content grew wider and wider. Then, he slammed the letter on the desk and looked at her with a mixture of shock, disbelief, anger and embarrassment. He stared at her with a firm and piercing gaze.
Heather was amused when she noticed the redness spreading into his ear. She chuckled when she saw the similar reaction of the man from their previous encounter.
She moved her face closer and raised her hand to rest her chin on it. She licks her lips to moisten her lower lip, shifting her body to face him with her legs crossed.
"So?"
"Are you crazy?!!"
He fiercely stood up and his chair slammed on the ground, making a loud noise. Mr. West and the rest of the class turned their heads at him. His teacher looked at him with puzzled eyes.
"Uh. Is there something wrong, Mr Ferrer?"
"Um.."
He opened his mouth several times as if he had something to say.
"I...I need to use the bathroom."
He said and hurriedly walked out of the room without waiting for his reply.
"...."
Heather's friends, who were watching them the whole time, couldn't hold their laughter anymore and burst out laughing.
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
"Wait..."
Heather stretched out her hand to pull his arm yet only managed to grab the empty air. She looked at the departing man with confused eyes and then looked at the 'love letter' that was blown away onto the ground. She picked it up and frowned.
"What..why is he mad?"
Heather whispered. She turned around and unexpectedly met the ridiculing gazes of her friends. She gritted her teeth and muttered.
"Fuckers."
