"Can you tell me where you were yesterday?"
Ethan asked Heather with his arms crossed. He was sitting in front of her, waiting for their other friends to arrive.
It was almost noon and the school cafeteria was getting more and more crowded and Heather was worried that it might run out of food.
"Can we talk about that later? Look, there are so many people."
"Hah!"
Ethan leaned forward to her.
"Do you know what time we went home yesterday? It's 8pm b***h, and I'm so so tired! And not only that, I haven't watched the most anticipated part of the series! Did you know that Daniel was going to die?! Do you know that he's going to be stabbed in the stomach and it will penetrate until hmmph- - "
Heather reached out and immediately covered Ethan's mouth because some students were already staring at them due to the loudness of his voice.
"Lower your voice, students are looking in our way."
Heather whispered to him as she looked around, smiling wryly.
Ethan slapped her hand and glared at her.
"It's because you don't understand, Katrina and Daniel look so good together! If it wasn't for that stupid Tomas! He won't get hurt wuwuwu."
Heather winced as she looked at drama queen Ethan.
"If you didn't watch it yesterday, then how did you know?"
"I watched it when I got home! I didn't even eat last night because I was so sad! I'm so hungry now wuwuwu."
Ethan burst into tears and exaggeratedly wiped his face full of tears with his hand.
'didn't you say you hadn't watched it? Ugh, why are we even talking about something like that?'
Heather just sighed helplessly.
"Why did I have an abnormal friend like you?"
Suddenly, a tissue appeared in front of Ethan. When he saw it, his eyes lit up and, with teary eyes, he lifted his chin and saw the face of the person he hated the most.
His expression immediately sank and his eyes were replaced by coldness.
"No, thanks."
Ethan said blankly and avoided the sight of him. Heather frowned at her friend's rudeness towards their classmate.
She glanced at the guy and showed a forced smile.
"Thank you, but Ethan's skin is a bit sensitive, so he doesn't use non -high quality products or else he'll get skin allergy hehe."
Heather laughed awkwardly.
"Ahhh.."
The guy glanced at Ethan, who was looking away and smiled at Heather. He retracted his hand and turned to Heather.
"That's why."
Heather nodded at him and patted his shoulder.
"I'm really sorry Matthew."
"It's okay. I'll go first."
He said to her and started walking away. Heather spent time looking at his retreating back and turned her head towards Ethan, who was now eating a chocolate and looking fine except for the redness of his nose and eyes.
Heather glared at him to show her displeasure and snatched the chocolate he was eating.
"Hey!"
"Are you stupid? He showed you kindness and then you're going to insult him just like that? Do you have to make him feel bad just because you don't like him? Why are you so bitchy?!"
Ethan frowned while looking down and took another pack of chocolate out of his pocket.
"Well, I didn't ask him to do that? It's his fault for acting like we know each other."
He said, tearing at the chocolate's plastic wrapper. He bit into it and turned his head at the guy who had handed him the tissue earlier from a distance.
He was eating alone at a wide table and there was an open book in front of him, taking a glance at it as he pushed a morsel of food into his mouth.
Ethan was so speechless at how he looked.
It's not that he doesn't like that person, he just really feels annoyed when he sees he's being bullied by his classmates.
They beat him, make fun of him, and buy them food using his pocket money. During that, there was a faint smile on his lips and he also called those bastards 'friends'.
If they treat him like a friend, why is he only eating alone in the cafeteria? And tormented himself to buy a cheap lunch just because he wanted to treat them at a PC cafe later. Where are those people he called 'friends'?
If he was him, he wouldn't let others do those things to him and beat the s**t out of them from the very first day they gave him trouble.
He cannot understand why he cared so much about this guy's affair. He's only a pushover, a pathetic person. How dare he, a nobody, make him feel bothered about his everyday life?
"Psh, Weirdo."
Ethan whispered and took a bite of his chocolate.
"Tsk. I'll get some food."
Heather said angrily and sprang to her feet. He heard her murmur something but he just ignored it.
Ethan was eating quietly when he caught a glimpse of the oncoming Margaux and Cindy. He frowned when he saw her walking abnormally.
When they got a little closer to him, he was shocked when he noticed a bruise on Margaux's face. She has a swollen face and a few scratches on her cheek. Her hair is also a bit messy.
Ethan immediately stood up and approached them. He took one of Margaux's arms and led her to sit on the chair.
"What happened? Why does your face look like a mess?"
Ethan asked worriedly. It's rare to see her look pathetic and wrecked.
Cindy sat down next to them and took another cold bottled water and handed it to Margaux.
Margaux gently put the bottle of cold water on her swollen cheek and winced in pain.
"Hiss.. fuck."
"Tsk, that woman fought with someone."
"Who? With Lee? Geez he beat you up like this?"
Margaux frowned at him and leaned closer.
"Are you insulting me? Does he look that strong to you? Jesus, his strength can't even kill a bug!"
She exclaimed as she recalled her previous fight with that guy.
Cindy clicked her tongue and took a piece of chocolate on the table.
"It's Trixie."
"Trixie who?"
"Who else? It's been her mortal enemy since she was young. You know, from the moment they were born, wearing diapers with a title on their lips."
Heather suddenly interrupted. She was holding two trays of food in her hands, she slowly laid them on the table.
Ethan was puzzled because Heather wasn't even surprised to see the bruises and scratches on Margaux's face.
Heather lifted her head and saw the curious gazes of her friends.
"Tut don't ask. You're the talk of the whole school today. When I lined up just now, I heard people mention the incident this morning from different directions. You're like a celebrity caught with a scandalous b***h!"
"....."
"And wow, you're really brave, huh? Fighting in front of the principal's office. Are you really eager to get punished again?"
Heather said and took a spoonful of porridge and ate it.
"Why are you only eating porridge?",
Cindy asked.
"I'm on diet."
"Oh."
Ethan took a glimpse at his friends and saw them looking unbothered by the situation. He turned his gaze on Margaux and knocked the table with his palm.
"You're crazy! Do you really wanna drop out of school? What if your dad decides to cut off your allowance again? Or kick you out of the house? What would you do then?!"
Ethan asked hysterically but Margaux just ignored his scolding, staring at Heather who was eating joyfully in front of her. She narrowed her eyes as she looked at the two trays lying on the table. She raised her hand and pointed at it.
"Where's ours?"
Margaux asked. Heather only glanced at her and shrugged his shoulders.
"You!"
"Hah!", Heather sighed and looked at her again.
"Do I look like I have four hands? Tsk go get your own."
"Ugh damn, you pig." Margaux cursed.
"Don't fight. I'll do it."
Cindy volunteered and got up from her seat. They walked to the queue to line up while Margaux glared at Heather who was eating like she had been starved for a week.
Ethan saw her glaring at Heather fiercely and chuckled. He took a bite of his own food and curved his lips.
"Do you want a bite?"
Margaux didn't answer him.
"Don't be angry. I already have the information you're looking for."
Ethan said and took his phone out of his pocket. Margaux paused for a second and turned her head towards him, confused.
"What information?"
"Hah! Stop pretending, I know you're asking someone to investigate that guy this morning."
'This b***h was sure fast.', Margaux thought. Her expression still remained calm, acting like she wasn't worried that her friend had found out her secret.
Ethan glanced at her for a moment and raised his lips mischievously.
"You know what, instead of wasting your money on those useless detectives, why don't you try hiring me instead? I'm fast and reliable. I'll only ask you for half price!"
Ethan said, boasting to himself, but Margaux only rolled her eyes at him.
"Who are you talking about?"
Heather asked curiously. At this moment, Ethan raised his hand and read the contents of his phone.
"Name: Christian Lee, 17 years old. A senior student of M.A Academy. His room is on the fourth floor, Class A. An honor student and scholar of this school. He has three part-time jobs in a day. He has a full schedule during Mondays and Tuesdays. He works in a milk tea shop near our school every Wednesday to Friday after class."
"..."
"Oh, he isn't free on weekends, he's working as a tutor for three middle school students. Two live in XX subdivision and the other one is in XX city. He also works as a waiter in a small barbeque shop in the evening.
Wow, so diligent ah!"
"Oh oh! And he also has no dating history. Maggie, I think he's still a virgin hehehe."
Ethan said and both him and Heather giggled. He looked at Margaux's serious face and grinned.
"You seemed interested. Shall I continue?"
Margaux flinched and raised her eyebrow at him.
"The f**k are you talking about?"
"Oh? I'm just doing you a favor. Why are you suddenly getting upset out there?"
Ethan said and opened his palms.
"Stop wasting your time over something useless, Ethan. Quit being stupid for a day, will you?"
Ethan chuckled and said to her,
"Hah! I don't care. I'll send his information to you, anyway. Do you know your words sharpen whenever you get embarrassed?"
Ethan uttered while pressing something on his cellphone. Heather nodded in agreement and made an 'okay' sign.
Just seconds later, Margaux's cell phone rang.
"Haha, you'll thank me someday."
He said proudly.
Margaux did not say a word and slightly lowered her eyes to open the message.
Cindy came back carrying a tray with her hands and sat beside her.
Margaux didn't bother thanking her and just read the information about the guy who had not left his mind since yesterday.
