I woke up before him for once and snuck into the shower before heading downstairs. Sweats and a Tee shirt was my outfit of choice. I rummaged through the almost empty fridge and decided I needed to make a grocery store run. As I grabbed my sneakers, keys, and purse I was stopped by Albert and another mean-looking guy, learning his name was Ivan and he’s Elijah's younger brother.
“Mrs. Chenko, where are you going?” Albert says smiling as if he caught me stealing cookies from the cookie jar.
“To the supermarket,” I said nervously
“Sorry, we’re on lockdown.”
“We all need to eat and there’s nothing in the kitchen, so either come with me or get out of my way,” I said pulling my purse onto my shoulder. He looked at me for a moment before grabbing the keys out of my hand and walking out
