By the time I'm showered, dressed, hair and make up all done and heading to the pack house the party is already in full swing, music blaring, decorations , balloons and banners hanging off of every wall and ceiling and a massive table set to the side of the pack house main room covered in all different kinds of food, in the back yard the barbecue is roaring and little pups are splashing in the pool, adults mingle and talk to one another, that is until I step in the front door, everyone stops what they are doing and turns to look at me screaming happy birthday, I smile so wide my cheeks hurt Alpha Damien and Luna Ivy walk up to me, wishing me a happy birthday and pull me in to a hug, I thank them and return their hugs.
I move further in to the house stopping every couple of seconds while people wish me well and good luck for my first shift tonight! although you get your wolf at 16 it's only to talk to inside your head, you don't have your first shift till you reach 18 only then do you transform from human to wolf, I can't wait to finally see what Mia looks like, her voice is so delicate and beautiful, I just know she's going to look just as beautiful! the first shift is the hardest, your whole body breaking and rearranging in to a completely different form, every bone in your body breaking and re-designing themselves but it's worth all the pain and effort once you see your wolf in its true form, running free.
the party continues on, everyone eating, drinking, talking and enjoying themselves, Jasmine finally comes 2 hours late but that's normal for her, she's dressed in a baby pink mini dress, with pink high block heels and make up that will probably take her 3 days just to wipe back off, but she looks stunning, she runs to me and side hugs me while shoving a bag with wrapped presents in to my spare hand, there's a table in the middle of the kitchen jam packed with presents all for me, I put the bag jaz gave me on it with the rest. I go to the fridge and grab 2 beers out handing 1 to jaz! my mum clocks me and give me a disapproving look but I'm 18 now and legal so she can't say anything, besides it takes a hell of a lot for wearwolves to get drunk. I hand jaz my drink and tell her to keep hold of it while I go to the bathroom. On my way there I smell the most amazing , intoxicating scent, fresh forest air and pine wood.
