Rejected, Replaced & Reclaimed

First shift

5..4..3..2..1, right on que I feel a current run through my body, my bones start to creek and crack, everyone around watching as I drop to my knees and let out a short, sharp scream, The pain running through my body so fast it knocked the air out of my lungs, I suck in a deep breath ready and waiting for the next bout of pain to take me.

I don't have to wait long at all!! it hurts so much. Not every wolf can survive the first shift, the pain that intense it causes them to much stress and elevates their heart rates to excessive paces, causing them to have a heart attack! it's rare though, most shifters are strong enough to endure the pain, and then after the first shift, it's so much easier, until it just comes naturally every time!

I'm currently on my knees everyone's still around me, but I don't even notice them anymore. They're just blurs around me, I can't hear anything its so silent. I must have passed out from the pain, my back bends and cracks in to place, 4 paws spring out from under my belly, my gums feel as if they are on fire relining themselves to fit my sharp, long fangs, my head is splitting as the shape stretches and snaps in place of a wolf head, then all of a sudden it all stops, the pain, the screams, everything.

why has it all just ended so fast? did I shift? I'm so confused, I open my eyes to ask Alpha but all that comes out is a panting sound, everyone is looking at me strangely, mouths open, eyes open even wider , shocked? awe? curiosity, all these emotions sit on everyone's faces! everything and everyone looks so much clearer, sharper, smell stronger of all different scents , everything sounds louder to... I look down in confusion, not understanding why everyone is just staring, not saying anything to me.

I catch a glimps of something fluffy and white, like soft, fresh fallen snow.. its... its me, I have white paws, that means I did complete my shift, all the pain just stopped because I completed the shift, I wonder what time it is, how long it took, it normally takes a good few hours to finish the whole shift, I'll have to remember to ask someone how long it was.
