Chapter 3

Where am I, I look up to sky and the clouds and I feel a raindrop. Why am I feeling this way? Everyone around me is dancing and celebrating but Arthur is trying to get my attention. He calls my mom over, explaining and she looks up at the moon. It begins to drizzle but not before the full moon shows herself and surrounds me in her light. Everyone stops and begins circling me. I hear them saying my name and everything goes black…

I wake up in my bed, Arthur is by my side still in his suit. I look at him and I swear I have never seen him look so relaxed. Where is my mother? Arthur gets up and kneels at the side of my bed. Hey, he brushes my cheeks making me feel awkward, and ask for my mother. I kind of hope it is alright if I stayed with you, as he stares at me ignoring me. He stands up, your mother and sister-in-law got you all changed and took off your make-up to make you more comfortable. Your family is outside, it has been twenty-four hours since you fainted.

What?! I yell, and he tries to calm me down, I move away from him, mind link Cassandra, and my mother to come in. As they enter the room, they kindly ask Arthur to leave. Arthur moves toward the door and before he goes, he ask if he may come back and I politely refuse. He exits and closes the door behind him. My birthday is tomorrow, and I am not ready for what is to come! My mother and Cassie try to calm me down and we begin to talk about what happened. I believe this was the Moon Goddesses way of communicating, she has summoned the chosen ones to attend my birthday. They are not to be turned away; they will be staying for a couple of days as well. Please prepare the guestrooms on this floor and have the library ready for a meeting in the morning. I think my body was preparing itself for gaining our wolf, after we talk Cass decides to go make me tea and to speak with Alexander.

(Cassandra’s P.O.V)

I stare daggers at Arthur seeing him so close to Lili. I quickly hurry and move him out of the way so I out distance between them. I watch his movements and study his facial expressions and the gave gives me the creeps. My wolf is growling and warning me not to trust him. After he leaves the room mother and I try to calm down Lili, and I tell her I will not let Arthur be alone with you again. What happened, sister? She begins to explain what she believes, and I tell her that whatever she needs it will be done, me and mother will see to it. I mind link some Gammas to begin preparing the guestrooms on this floor as Lili instructed. Sister, I will go make you some tea and speak to Alex.

I leave the room and head downstairs when I get the feeling someone is watching me. I stop and look around but there is no one there. I mind link Alex to meet me in the kitchen as soon as he finishes his meeting with his father. After making my way into the kitchen I pour some water into a kettle and pull-out loose tea leaves. The feeling of someone watching is back and when I turn it is Arthur. I can bring the tea up to her he says smiling, I smile back and say Lilith is not feeling well and does not want any company besides mother and I. The smile fades and he begins walking towards me, then he lets out a low growl. I stand my ground and get in his face and say I am not afraid of you while smirking. What is going on here? Alex chimes in and notices the tension. Arthur says he was congratulating me on the pregnancy and becoming Luna. I scoff and he smiles at me as the kettle begins to whistle. Arthur says it is getting late and he will retire for the night. After he leaves, I wait until I know he is upstairs, and a gamma mind links me that he is in his room.

Alexander, I do not trust Arthur. I think it is best if he stays away from Lilith. What, why?! Arthur is giving me red flags and bad vibes. He was alone with Lilith in her room and she asked him to leave and fetch us, but he kept gaslighting her! She had to mind link us, Alex. Alex furrows his brows, and he says that he will make sure Arthur keeps a distance from Lilith. Alex place guards on her floor, we can also say it is because of the guests that are coming to make them feel more comfortable. He nods his head in agreement, and leaves. I take the tea back up Lilith’s room. s**t, it’s almost midnight…

(Arthurs P.O.V)

Why does Lilith not want me to be close to her? I am only trying to help her; I growl through my teeth.

She can see right through your mask Arthur! You forget she is born because the Moon Goddess willed it. Why do you think that is?!

Shut up, Aries! Lilith will be mine; she is destined to be with a Morningstar just as in her previous life. I force Aries into the back of mind.

I walk to my room and open the door. I guess I should take this time to clean up and change. I head to my bathroom and begin to brush my teeth; I get undressed and take a warm shower. What was the whole moonlight thing about? Is she being summoned before her eighteenth birthday? I will stay by her side no matter what, I will not let anyone interfere with my plan to make her my mate. I let the warm water run over me and down my body. After my shower and get dressed I decide to see if Lilith will allow me to see her as I open the door Alexander is standing in my way, I smile Alex buddy I was just about to head to the rec room for some video games, care to join? Arthur, I need you to keep your distance from Lilith. I hear Aries laughing at me. What’s up dude and give him a confused look. “Arthur, you did not listen to me when you asked to be my sisters date, and then I learn from my mate that you were alone in her room and did not receive anyone’s permission. Lilith felt extremely uncomfortable, so I have to ask you to keep your distance until she calms down, you know how girls are.”, He slaps my shoulder and I play along with his charade, but I know he is ordering me to do so. Alex, I am so sorry. I was not thinking I was just so worried about her and my wolf Aries wanted to be near her. Alex looks at me and says, “hey I get, I feel the same away when Cassie was in her car accident.” Let us go play some video game man, just like old times! Alex smiles and offers me to go first.

(Liliths P.O.V)

After Cassie goes downstairs to make me tea my mother apologizes that Arthur was in my room with out supervision. It is alright, I just do not feel comfortable around him and I hope he gives me space. I hear a knock on my door, and I know it is Cassie, she only knocks that way. Come in! I begin to think he has done that knock since we were kids, and smile. I watched her bring me my tea and I could not help taking a trip down memory lane. I asked her to move into the pack house after her grandma had passed away. We were only in elementary school, but my heart ached for my best friend. We were so close we just ended up calling each other sister, my mother loved and gave her the same love and care she game to my brothers and me. When she gained her wolf, it turned out Alex was her mate, and they became inseparable…

I take the tea from Cassie and thank her. I begin to drink as Cassie gives me the rundown on what the plan is and suddenly, our phones are going off. Library now! I get up to put my robe on and explain to Cassie and mom that it’s most likely my guest being that it is now midnight. As I start heading downstairs I start getting this splitting headache. I place my hands on each side of my head, what is going on? I finally make it downstairs, make my way to the library, and Arthur is waiting. I tell him to leave but he says Alex wants him here, and I shoot a look at Alex and he mouths my bad. Everyone starts walking in and Arthur walks in behind me. I wince when another headache hits me.

I see a well-dressed man and woman sitting. They stand as I enter the room and bow as I do the same. You must be Alistair and Bella, as I rise. I can tell by everyone's look they are confused. I knew their names without ever meeting them. Alistair smells like fresh rain… His scent…

MATE!

Alistair begins moving towards me and he smiles – it has been a long time my Lady and he kisses my hand. I cannot help but giggle, and this feeling he gave me, when we touched… Then my eyes go white, where am I? I hear a scream and I see two people on the battlefield one is holding the other while crying. I put my hands on my mouth, Alistair was weeping as he held the first Lady Blackhart in his arms. I will always love you Lilith, and she whispers back “and I you”.
