The maroon van hummed along the Princes highway towards Lakes Entrance. To Tristram’s surprise, Saffi, Pyran and Jase chatted away the twenty-minute journey as if all was well with the world. Russell, on the other hand, radiated silent anger and sadness as he watched the road. Tristram sat thoughtfully beside his father in the front seat and watched the night fly by the window.
