"Belle," I said carefully, trying to keep my tone even, "I'm doing my best. You keep rejecting everything I do, even when it meets the standards. If there's a real issue, tell me what it is instead of making me rework things every day. We're supposed to be on the same team."
Her smirk widened. "The same team?" she repeated mockingly. "No, darling we are not. I'm doing my best to make sure you don't ruin the reputation of this company. You are just here to sleep your way to the top."
