Chapter 44

Dos’s Point of View The soft whir of the helicopter blades hummed above us, but all I could hear was the sound of her laughter echoing in my chest like a heartbeat I didn’t know I needed. I couldn’t help the smile tugging at the corners of my lips. Moments like this? They carved permanent marks on a man’s soul. She wasn’t just watching the view—she was becoming part of it. Glowing. Untouchable. Beautiful. “You’re staring again, Captain,” she teased without looking at me.
