Dos’s Point of View I settled onto the cushioned bench by Gate 3, my boarding pass tight in my fist and a duffel bag slung over my shoulder. The early check-in had given me plenty of breathing time—but my heart refused to settle. Every chime or buzz in my pocket set my pulse soaring, hoping it was June reaching out: I changed my mind.
