Let's...Party?

I was slightly bummed when we pulled up to the party house. Then I was going to have to get off the bike, and Jacek. I saw Gwyneth and Casey waving us over. Jacek pulled the bike over to them and kicked out the kickstand before cutting the engine off.                 “I’m so glad you decided to come!” Gwyneth happily moved her body while a big smile was embroidered across her deep blush lips.                 Casey nodded. “We were getting worried that you weren’t going to show up. Hey, Jacek.”                 Jacek glanced over to him and tipped up his head in the silent ‘what’s up’ style before holding out his hand for me to take to get off.                 “Such a gentleman, Mr. Bad Wolf.” I whispered into the helmet. Knowing full well that Jacek would hear, but not Gwyneth or Casey.                 After both my feet were on the solid ground, I pulled the helmet off and handed it back to him. He hung it off the handlebars as he got off himself.                 Casey pointed to the bike. “It’s nice, man. I have one of these at home. Not nearly as nice as yours, but maybe we could go out riding one day. We can even take the girls with us.”                 “Sure.” Jacek said as he slipped off his riding jacket, draping it over the seat.                 Casey tried to hold in his excitement as he actually had the confidence to speak to Jacek and he responded. Didn’t ignore him or get mad. “Are you girls ready to dance?”                 Gwyneth clapped her hands together as she swung her hips a little. “Yes, let’s go!”                 I glanced over to Jacek, a little smile on my pretty lips. “Do you dance?”                 Do I look like I dance?  He shook his head a little.                 “Maybe with me you will.” I shot him a wink.                 You’ll be the death of me and my reputation, dolcezza.                 I rolled my eyes. “Don’t be so dramatic.”                 Before he said anything else, I leaned forward and took his hand in mine. Jacek raised an eyebrow as he watched me smile back at him, leading him as I followed behind Casey.    Insight into Jacek’s mind: Third P.O.V.         Jacek never in a million years thought he would ever be doing something like this. Hanging out with friends and going dancing at a party, with a girl. Friendships and relationships were trivial because in the end, they always showed they had bad intentions. They just wanted to use their friends and get what they could out of their lovers before tossing them away for a new person. He had seen it time and again, and had no desire to be a part of anything like that. Yet, here he was. With Casey and Gwyneth, two people he had seen countless times in the hallways and never said a word too. And Cairyn. A girl who looked straight through him like he was air. Normally he would ignore a girl like her and tell her off, make her cry and get her to never speak to him again, but the thought of that make him uneasy. It was something about the way Cairyn looked back at him, it was like no one else had existed before him. She wasn’t afraid of him. More like, she adored him. Cairyn’s P.O.V.                   The house was loud and dark. Music echoed though the rooms like waves, the lights strobe and danced just like the people inside it. As soon as we were inside, Gwyneth began to sway and dip around. The beat carried me into the main living area that was nearly the size of a basketball court, and behind me followed Casey. I turned around to face Jacek and laughed a little seeing his un-amused face as all the people parted for us like the Red Sea. He shook his head at me as I took his other hand and began to sway my shoulders with the beat.                 “Come on. I know you like music. Can’t you feel it?” I whispered.                 Jacek shook his head. I told you I don’t dance.                 I closed my eyes as I swayed with the sounds. “You don’t have to dance. I won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to do.”                 My hands slipped through his so I could twirl and dip my hips to the beat, feeling the music taking over my senses. Jacek watched as I moved like a snake in a charmer’s basket, hearing and obeying the music telling me how to move my body.                 Gwyneth come over and began to dance in sync with me. We both laughed and enjoyed themselves while Casey made his way over to Jacek. For a song neither of them said anything as they watched over us girls, but Casey couldn’t hold it in any longer. He looked over to Jacek and let out a deep breath, summoning the courage to speak to him again.                 Casey held his head up high and looked over. “Hey Jacek, from now on try to keep Derek away from Cairyn.”                 “What happened?” Jacek asked, never taking his eyes off the girls in front of them.                 “Um, he kind of went off the deep end.” Casey said as he let out a sigh. “He thinks he can use you and Cairyn to get onto the List. I don’t know what’s up with him, but I would just keep him at a distance for the time being.”                 He nodded as they both watched the girls dance for another minute or two.                 “I think Cairyn really likes you.” Casey stated as he watched me wink at Jacek before focusing back on dancing with Gwyneth.                 Jacek glanced over to Casey, but didn’t say anything.                 Casey felt the intensity of his eyes without even having to look. He nodded and huffed. “I’m going to forget I even said that and go get a drink.”                 With that, Casey slinked out of the room and towards the kitchen. I came over and gestured down the massive hallway to our left. Without ever saying anything we moved that way. Before I realized what was happening, two large guys from school stumbled down the hallway, shoving me aside nearly into the wall. If it hadn’t been for Jacek behind me, I would have slammed right into the wallpaper.                 The one looked down at me and went to say something, but feeling that threatening malicious aura that radiated off Jacek made him sober up just enough to rethink his decision and head out.         I laughed a little as I looked back at Jacek. “My Big Bad Wolf.”         He shook his head. From vampire to wolf?         “Unless you prove otherwise.” I said, moving through the doorway and out onto a back patio.         My eyes instantly went to a group of people in the center of the yard. Something about the group didn’t seem right. I glanced over to Jacek and gestured over to them.         “Want to check it out?”         He shrugged. “Sure.”         As we walked over I could hear a distressed voice echoing through the others. It was male, but other than that I had no idea who it was. The other students were so caught up in what they were doing, they never even noticed Jacek and I behind them.                 “Come on, Hexic. If your sister is as strong as she claims, then you have to be stronger. Show us what you got.”                 “The reason no one likes you is because you don’t fit in like the rest of us. Are you even really one of us?”                 “I swear the only thing he’s good for is being used as target practice. Did you hear that the Coach is having him spar with the football players to keep up their game. Hit the moving target and you get to skip suicides in practice.”                 “What are you even doing here?”                 “Does anyone have a football? I want to practice decking him with the ball now.”                 I huffed my growing annoyance. “Hey, why don’t you pick on someone your own size.”                 Every one of them seemed shocked as they turned to see me and an ever-annoyed Jacek standing there. One kid with bright orange hair stepped forward, looking me over like I was naked.                 “You must be the new human girl, Karen, right?” He asked condescendingly as he took another step closer to me.                 I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms. “Let me guess, you have a small set of genitals and feel the need to assert your lame dominance over another male to impress the ladies since your face isn’t what’s going to attract them? I’m just guessing here though.”                 He shook his head. “Gunner told me you’re a piece of work, but he forgot to mention how fine your ass was. Why don’t you come over here so I can show you how I assert my dominance?”                 “Your friends with that barbarian? I should have known. You have the same rank smell all over you. Have you football players ever heard of a shower? Soap is a person’s best friend you know.” I said, standing straight and tall. This guy wasn’t intimidating me in the slightest, and with Jacek at my back there was nothing I couldn’t take on.                 The guy ground his teeth, moving slowly towards me again. “Why don’t we strip down and you can bathe me then babe. I’ll show you all the right ways to enjoy that wet water.”                 My nose curled. “Yeah, no. I’m good. You should be getting enough lovey dovey shower time in the locker room with all your teammates, don’t you?”                 “I swear you’re going to regret talking to me like that.” He said, lunging forward to grab me.                 Jacek was faster though, he moved too fast for anyone to see. In a blink, he moved forward and punched the football player right in the throat. Before resuming his position behind me, not being able to hold back the yawn that escaped as he stretched out his arms. The guy dropped to the grass as he choked on air, gasping and holding his throat for dear life.                 “Nice hit, love.” I laughed as I leaned down to be close to his face. “Who’s good for nothing but target practice now, babe?”                 I then moved through the crowd to see a guy sitting in the grass with a shocked expression on his face. From what I could see through his long hair, he looked like he had a cute face and seemed to be tall. Not very fit, but lean. He didn’t look like every other carbon-copy guy, and with that came bullying.                 I leaned down and held out my hand. “I’m Cairyn, do you need a hand?”                 The guy nodded. “My names Hexic Enders. I live right next door. I don’t even know why I came here tonight.”                   “I know why.” I said as I helped him up. “So, you could meet some people.”                 Hexic shrugged. “Like you?”                 I smiled. “Sure, and I’m sure you already know who Jacek is.”                 “I’ve only seen him in passing.” He said as he nodded to Jacek. “I never thought the two of you would be here talking to me though.”                 “We’re not mythical creatures…well…you get what I’m trying to say. That was a bad example.” I said as I looked over to Jacek and shrugged.                 He shook his head at me. “Not a mythical creature either.”                 I huffed. “You know, I’m running out if idea’s here, love.”                 Jacek sighed as he looked down to the football player who finally decided to crawl away.                 I glanced around to the rest of the crowd. “What the hell are all of you still doing? Go have fun somewhere else. Go dance or get pregnant or something. Leave.”                 The other students dispersed quickly after I said something, leaving the three of us by themselves. Hexic still looked depressed, and I felt bad about his whole situation.                 “Hey, you want to hang out with me and my friends?” I gestured back to the house.                 Hexic shrugged. “Are you sure? I’m a nobody and going to bring you nothing but trouble. And you two are…well…popular.”                 I shrugged my one shoulder. “Do you think we can handle it, Mr. Bad Wolf?”                 “I’m sure we can.” Jacek said as he put a hand lightly on my back to guide me out of the way of a student barreling towards them to go throw up at the edge of the yard.                 “Settled then?” I said over my shoulder to Hexic.                 He didn’t protest anymore and followed behind the two of us as we went back into the house and to the kitchen. There we found Gwyneth and Casey drinking out of red cups and talking to each other. It seemed as if the rest of the people at the party was completely avoiding all of us. Which wasn’t too surprising, being that everyone always avoided Jacek to begin with and now avoided me.                 “Gwyn!” I called out as I rushed over to avoid being bumped into. “Hey, have you met Hexic before? He’s going to be with us tonight if that’s okay.”                 She looked over and waved. “I’ve seen you around. Your Marrison’s twin brother, right? I’m Gwyneth.”                 Hexic nodded. “Yeah, I know who you are.”                 Gwyneth made a face as she put a hand to her forehead. “Let me guess, I made fun of you or picked on you at one point in time?”                 “Yep. Tortured me for the last two years actually.” He said as he looked to his feet.                 I leaned over to tip his chin up so he was looking right into my eyes. “Don’t look down. It shows weakness. I promise I won’t let you be bullied anymore. Plus, everyone is too busy trying to kick my ass to even worry about you when your around me.”                 He was shocked when he saw my wink at him, a slight blush appearing on his cheeks. “Your serious? I thought you brought me over here too…”                 “To what?” Casey asked and then shook his head. “You thought this was a ploy to pick on you some more, didn’t you?”                 Hexic nodded. “I did.”                 “You really think so low of me?” I asked, frowning for effect.                 He panicked a little, putting his hands up defensively. “No. It’s just…you’re so pretty and you hang out with Jacek and Gwyneth. I just assumed you were going to be just like everyone else.”                 “That’s what you get for assuming.” I said as I giggled a little. “Don’t you know? I’m climbing my way up to being the most hated person at Black Water High? I already have Vivian, Gunner, and Coach Torrance out for my head. Not to mention that guy Jacek socked in the throat. I’m sure he hates me too now.”                 Casey laughed. “Yeah, that’s all true. I swear, these girls are not like the other pretty girls. Gwyneth isn’t the same as she was last year. She is actually nice.”                 “Nice? That’s all of a complement I get?” Gwyn said as she rolled her eyes at him.                 “Hexic.” I got his focus back. “I mean what I said. No more bullying.”                 He nodded. “Okay, I believe you.”                 I smiled at him before turning and intertwining my fingers with Jacek’s “Come on! Please dance with me?”                 Nope. He said as he pulled me to avoid getting ran over by another drunk student.                 “One of these days, I’ll get you to dance with me.” I winked at him before going to get a drink.                 As I moved away from them Gwyneth looked over to Jacek and smiled.                         I leaned across the counter to grab a cup, but then something pressing up against my back made my face twist into irritation. When I glanced over my shoulder I could see a slightly familiar face looking back at me. It was someone from one of my classes, but I couldn’t quite place them. He had short black hair with light amber colored eyes and a beautiful face. Yet, something about him seemed off. Maybe everyone seemed like they were out to get my lately, but this guy…he carried that same feeling that Jacek had. The only difference was that I was actually scared of this guy. Everything in me screamed for me to get away from him.                 “Can I help you with something?” He asked as he leaned around me to grab a cup off the stack that I had been trying to reach.                 I straightened, my eyes narrowing as I watched him start to fill the cup up with beer form the keg. “Nope, I am just fine on my own.”                 He smiled, holding out the cup for me to take. “I was just trying to be helpful.”                 “That’s sweet of you, but my mama told me to never accept drinks from strange men.” I said as I put the cup down on the counter.                 He laughed a little. “My name’s Daron. Now were not strangers anymore. Did you think I did something to the drink?”                 I shrugged. “You never know. I don’t trust anyone that goes to this school. All of you hear human and for some reason want to watch me wither in pain and die. So, yeah maybe.”                 “He did.”                 Daron glanced over and shrugged. “It was worth a try, but I can see nothing gets past you, right Jacek?”                 I shook my head. “Mother f**k…See, this is why I’m developing trust issues. What the hell did you put in the drink?”                 “It’s just shroom extract. It’s not a roofie if that’s where your mind was going with this. They invite me for this reason. Did you seriously not know?” Daron put his hand up defensively. “I don’t need to drug girls to get them to sleep with me.”                 “That’s nice to know.” I rolled my eyes before turning to place a hand gently on Jacek’s chest. “I don’t need anything to drink, let’s go back to the others.”                 He nodded as he shook his head at Daron.                 “If you get bored of getting nowhere with Jacek, come find me, sweetheart. I promise I won’t have any problem letting you in.” Daron called out, smirking when I glanced back to flip him off.                 Gwyneth gave me the rest of her overly strong mixed drink before we went back into the other room to dance. We grinded on each other, swung our hips, dipped down low, tossed our hands in the air, had Casey bring us more untainted drinks. By the time another two hours went by both of us were pretty drunk, except the boys. Jacek and Casey were mine and Gwyneth’s designated drivers, so they both had been drinking water or mixed drinks without the alcohol.                 While Gwyneth was going strong, I was slowly fading. Still exhausted from the move and everything that happened today it was getting close to the time of passing out. So, after saying goodbye to Gwyneth, Hexic and Casey, we began to make our way out the house and back to Jacek’s bike.                 All was going well, at least until a highly drunk Gunner found us.                 “You know, I’ve been looking for you two all night? Did you miss me?” He said as he came up behind us with a smile on his face. All around us, the other students parted and made way for us three.                 I sighed. “Ah hell. I completely forgot you existed to be honest.”                 “Same.” Jacek added as he to let out a deep sigh.                 Gunner shook his head. “Do you want to know why I’m here?”                 “Not really.” I said as I couldn’t hold back my yawn.                 Jacek shook his head before yawning too. “Move. We’re leaving.”                 Gunner laughed dryly. “No, you’re not. Not yet at least. I want to continue our little bout earlier.”                 I rolled my eyes. “You mean the one you were losing this morning? Come on, Jacek tossed you into a wall. Isn’t that enough punishment for today?”                 “That cocky attitude of yours is going to die tonight.” Gunner hissed, cracking his knuckles.                 I raised an eyebrow as I shifted my weight. “Is that a nonchalant threat against my life? It’s hard to tell.”                 Jacek sighed while he shrugged. “I’m going to say yes.”                 Without another word, Gunner shot forward, going right for me. I was only able to lean a little back with the time it took him to reach me, but there was someone much faster than Gunner next to me. Jacek anticipated the attack and easily side-stepped to be right in front of me, blocking me and leaning down to place a very calculated punch to Gunner’s left kidney. Gunner groaned as he took a step backwards, seething in anger as he met Jacek’s eyes.                 “Why? Why her? Just let me break her, and you can go back to ignoring everyone just like you always have.” Gunner hissed as he held onto his side.                 Jacek shook his head while I sighed. He ran his hand through his hair with a glint to his beautiful eyes. “Just go, Gunner.” He rolled his eyes. “One way or another, I’m going to snap that girl in half. It all just depends on if you’re going to be there when it happens or not.”                 I huffed. “I can hear you. Tell your master plans then idiot.”                 Gunner kicked, but what I didn’t expect was the empty bottle that came flying towards my face. Jacek reached out to snatch it out of air before leaning forward to grab Gunner’s arm as he had gone for me again. He twisted his arm and swiftly dropped his elbow down on the back of Gunner’s elbow, snapping it with ease. Jacek then kicked his knee out from under him, collapsing Gunner to the ground before leaning back and landing a very solid kick to the back of his head.                 My hand was over my mouth as I watched Gunner’s annihilation happen right in front of me When he was done, Jacek rolled his head on his neck and sighed. He was slightly unsure what he was going to have to see on my face. Was I going to be upset? Disgusted?                 “Jacek? Babe? Are we ready to leave now?”                 He looked over to see a slight smile on my beautiful lips while I gestured over to the motorcycle. A calming feeling washed over him as he nodded.                 I winked, holding my hand out. “Let’s go, my knight in tattooed armor.”                 You’re incorrigible sometimes. Jacek rolled his eyes as he let me have his hand.                 I began to lightly pull him along. “I know, but you wouldn’t have me any other way, now would you, babe?”
