Cairyn’s P.O.V.
When Mallik’s lifeless body slumped to the floor I waited for Jacek to come back to me, but instead he just stayed there crouched on the floor. Nope. That was not going to do. I needed him. I needed to feel him wrapping his arms around me.
“Jacek…?”
That seemed to snap him back to reality, because in an instant he was at my side and scooping me up in his arms. I nuzzled my face into the crook of his neck, making sure I soaked in as much of him as I could. Without another moment, he dematerialized to move us outside, and getting us some alone time.
