Chapter 4: BANISHED PRINCES Mansur lay flat on his belly in the morning sun, watching two didelphodon squabble over a dead lizard a few yards away. It had only been hours since his mother had banished him and his brothers from their childhood home. This was especially stressful to Mansur, who was having the most difficult time adjusting to their new predicament. After wandering aimlessly for a while, they’d finally stopped to rest under another large dried-up araucaria tree, its whorled branches stretched wide, providing shade from the scorching heat bearing down upon them. It was another isolated survivor, surrounded by nothing but dry plains and sparse bushes. Carnis sat panting with his eyes closed while Leviathan and Hannibal slept, still aching from their fight the previous day. M
