Alpha River stood rooted to the spot, his face bearing the crimson marks of the blow, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief. His wolf stared back, equally stunned.  He'd likely never imagined I would raise a hand against him, much less in such circumstances.  I stared at him, tears blurring my vision, my voice trembling. My wolf let out a wail of despair. "Alpha River, are you satisfied now? You killed our cub, and now you've killed my mother... Are you satisfied?!"  He did not speak, merely watching me silently, his gaze complex. His wolf bowed its head.  I turned away, collapsing to the ground.
