"Come out, Zek. I'm outside your place," Viz briefly said when Zeki answered his call.
"What?" He was still groggy and obviously just woke up. "It's way too early, Viz. It's just four in the morning. Can't you sleep at home now that your wife's gone?"
"Hmm," was his flat reply. His jaw tensed up at that.
Zeki groaned. "You know, whatever you're going through, handle it yourself, I'm still half-asleep."
"I just have something to show you."
"Do you have a surprise for me? Surprises aren’t really my favorite, so just go home. I'll just check it out later, whatever it is, unless you're not going to take it back."
He gave a knowing smile. "I have no plans to take back my surprise for you. If you really don't want to come out now, that's your call. I'm just staying in my car."
