Nessa was surprised when she saw Nivan at the end of the orphanage hallway. He was staring at her seriously, and there was an intense emotion in his eyes.
She had just arrived at Hospicio Custodio and helped the volunteers clean. She had just tied her hair up. She was just wearing a simple T-shirt and faded pants.
"Nivan?" she called out to her friend. "What are you doing there? Why are you just standing there? Why don't you come over here and help me clean?" She smiled widely at him.
She wondered why Nivan didn't move from where he was standing. She put down the broom she was holding and tilted her head to see if he was okay.
She stepped back when she saw him walking towards her. His steps were large. And she felt like he wanted to fly over the distance between them.
