#Chapter 4:
Valeria's eyes widened in shock as she stared at her brother. "Alex, what's going on?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Alex's smile grew wider. "You're so naive, Valeria," he said, his voice dripping with contempt. "You think you're fighting against evil, but you're just a pawn in a much bigger game."
Valeria's face paled. "What have you done, Alex?" she whispered.
Alex chuckled. "I've seen the truth, Valeria. And I've joined the winning side."
Victor stepped forward, a triumphant smile on his face. "You see, Valeria, your brother here has been working with us for months. He's been feeding us information, helping us to stay one step ahead of you."
Valeria's eyes filled with tears as she stared at her brother. "Why, Alex?" she whispered.
Alex's expression softened for a moment, and I saw a glimmer of the brother Valeria once knew. "I'm sorry, Valeria," he said, his voice barely audible. "I didn't have a choice."
But before he could explain further, Victor interrupted. "Enough of this sentimental nonsense," he snapped. "It's time to get down to business."
And with that, everything went blackAs everything went black, I felt a sense of disorientation wash over me. When I came to, I was lying on a cold, hard floor. My head was pounding, and my mouth felt dry. I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness forced me back down.
"Easy, werewolf," a voice said, its tone dripping with amusement. "You're not going anywhere anytime soon."
I opened my eyes to find Victor standing over me, a smug look on his face. I tried to lunge at him, but my hands were bound behind my back.
"Where's Valeria?" I growled, my anger and fear for her safety fueling my determination.
Victor chuckled. "Oh, she's safe and sound. For now. But don't worry, I'll make sure she's treated well... as long as you cooperate."
I snarled, my anger boiling over. "You'll pay for this, Victor. Mark my words."
Victor just laughed. "I'm shaking in my boots, werewolf. But let's get down to business. You see, I have a little problem on my hands. A problem that requires a... delicate touch. And I think you're just the one to help me with it."
He leaned down, his eyes glinting with malice. "You see, there's a certain artifact that I need. An artifact that just so happens to be in the possession of a certain werewolf pack. And I think you'll be willing to do just about anything to get your precious Valeria back."
I felt a cold dread creeping up my spine. What was Victor planning? And what did he want with the artifact? But before I could ask any questions, everything went black again.
When I came to, I was in a different room. Valeria was standing across from me, her eyes locked on mine. But there was something different about her. She seemed... distant. Cold.
"Valeria?" I said, trying to reach out to her.
But she just smiled, her eyes glinting with a malevolent light. "I'm sorry, Luca," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I've seen the light. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals."
I felt a pang of fear. What had Victor done to her? And what did she mean by "whatever it takes"? But before I could ask any questions, Valeria turned and walked away, leaving me alone and bound.
I was trapped. And I had no idea how I was going to get out of this alive .
As Valeria walked away, I felt a surge of desperation. I had to get out of here, and I had to save her from whatever Victor had done to her. I struggled against the bindings, but they were too strong. I was trapped.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps outside the room. The door creaked open, and Victor walked in, a smile on his face.
"Ah, good," he said. "You're awake. I see Valeria's little visit didn't exactly lift your spirits."
I glared at him, my anger and frustration boiling over. "What have you done to her?" I demanded.
Victor chuckled. "Oh, I've just shown her the truth. The truth about her precious pack, and the artifact they've been hiding. You see, Luca, that artifact is the key to ultimate power. And I'm going to use it to take over this city, and then the world."
I felt a chill run down my spine. Victor was even more ambitious than I had thought. "You'll never succeed," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
Victor just laughed. "Oh, I think I will. You see, Valeria has agreed to help me. And with her powers, we'll be unstoppable."
I felt a pang of fear. Valeria wouldn't betray me like that. Or would she? I didn't know what Victor had done to her, but I knew I had to get out of here and stop him before it was too late.
I began to think furiously, trying to come up with a plan. I knew I couldn't take on Victor and his minions in a straight-up fight. I was bound and helpless, and even if I managed to break free, I was no match for Victor's powers.
But maybe... just maybe... I could use my surroundings to my advantage. I looked around the room, taking in the cold, grey walls and the single, flickering light bulb overhead. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
I closed my eyes, focusing on my other senses. I could hear the sound of footsteps outside the room, the muffled voices of Victor's minions. And I could smell something... something that didn't quite belong.
I opened my eyes, a plan forming in my mind. It was a long shot, but it was worth a try.
"Victor," I said, trying to sound calm. "I think I know how you can get the artifact without any trouble."
Victor's eyes narrowed, his interest piqued. "Go on," he said.
I took a deep breath, hoping I wasn't making a huge mistake. "I'll tell you where the artifact is," I said. "But you have to let me go."
Victor raised an eyebrow. "And why would I do that?"
I smiled, trying to look confident. "Because I have something you want. And I'm willing to make a deal with you."
