Alan left the bathroom knowing that Dylan might have heard something before entering the assistant office. He found him at the door looking with black eyes like a hunter for his prey. Taking calculated steps so that his predator side won’t come out in the office, he picked the documents on Sanders's table sounding like just another day. “Ready to go, brother?” His eyes keep following. “Have you seen Miss Carter?” “Who?” “The new assistant that is going to take over Sanders.” ‘So that's who she is.’ He made that thought only for himself. “Haven’t met her yet. I came looking for Sanders for some papers.” Waving them at him. “No one was here when I arrived.” His eyes turned more normal, looking around he sniffed the hair making an angry look. ‘Sh*t’ “You have a terrible taste in colognes.” He started walking to the door, making him stand there looking at his back. “Are you coming?” “Yes, just let me organize the papers a bit.” Seeing him walking outside the office Alan got closer to the bathroom door again and knocked like promised, picking up the papers and going out to the reunion. In the leader’s conference room: It was an intimate private room allowed only to the higher-ups, near the entrance to the room there was a white wall used for the projector, in the middle a rectangular center glass table with individual couches on the sides, between each one a small round glass table to put the drinks on. Opening the door to enter they see Theo on his couch preparing the computer on the center table for projection while Dory was putting the papers in order on the respective individual glass tables. Looking to the door they both gave their morning greetings. The office window on the opposite side of the door wall had an inner view, they could see the inside of the building, including the public area where the stores are on the first floor, being werewolves, they could see perfectly if they want to look at it. Dylan was constantly sniffing the air and mumbling something to himself, making everyone curious, the situation became so unbearable that Dory Sanders snapped standing up and making everyone look at her. "You" she pointed at Dylan, "we can't do any work with you mumbling to yourself all the time. What is wrong so we can continue the meeting." He blinked several times looking around to see Alan and Theo with worried looks. "Nothing, just continue." He could see that they were not going to let it go, Sanders's face lid up. "Is it something about that situation?" looking at her face he understood that the question was about the rabbit run. "What situation?" Theo was always the one that knew everything that happened, so his curiosity flared up when it was related to the Alpha since he was the Gama of the pack. "The packhouse incident." He just looked at her, "Dylan were they not informed?" She did not know what exactly was, only that made the Alpha snap on the day she introduced the new assistant. Sigh "Is taken care of already." "What happen in the pack house that we were not informed about and is taken care of?" Allan's voice was cold making everyone freeze, he was the one with the most power after Dylan, since he is also Alpha but doing the Beta position in the pack, sometimes they forget about it until days like this occur. Seeing his brother getting icy he looked at him. "Don’t forget who’s the Alpha, Alan." Voice matched the cold delivering the warning, but Alan did not budge this time, something was picking with the Alpha within. "Can you explain the situation, brother?" The room was like walking on thin ice, Dory Sanders didn't move an inch for fear of disrespecting the Alphas, Theo was completely taken back by their reactions, he had felt the cold aura of Dylan multiples times, but it was the first time he was feeling Alan, and the unpleasant feeling of oppression was as strong if not stronger than Dylan, deciding to put his neck on the line. "Gentleman, we have a pregnant she-wolf in the room, if you don’t want to be the cause for her abortion, please restrain your power." The feeling of oppression disappeared in seconds, making them both hold faces of shame for not holding their temper in the presence of a pregnant woman. Theo poured a glass of water passing it to Sanders that was white. Dylan looked at her regretting the choice to confront his brother and not to try to calm him down, Alan had the same face. Theo stayed near Sanders patting her back while the color started to come back to her face. "Dylan, can you explain what happened so that all are informed correctly?" It was not a normal question, his Gama was also asking for an explanation about his behavior, and he was not sure why he had hidden it. Looking at Dory, "Remember when you came to introduce Miss Carter", their faces change to curiosity after Dylan spoke the name of a person, “the new assistant, and I was shouting in the office?" Dory nodded in response. "I was talking with the packhouse since I got a human the night before there." he stopped and there was silence. They all knew what that meant, Theo's eyes widened, Dory just looked a little disappointed, and Alan had a thinking face. "We all know how hard it is to contain our lust since we haven’t found a mate yet." Theo's voice was low, "Who took care of it, Julius?". Alan had gotten up facing the inner window, he spotted Carter rushing to a lingerie store, making a smirk with pride until he heard. "It ran away." Alan froze remembering that day that she walked by mistake into his bedroom, he assumed wrong, she was running from Dylan, not Theo, but that also means, turning to face everyone again that had their mouths open. 'Do they know who she is?' Dylan had his eyes stuck on him, accusing him of something. "You’re telling us someone survived a night with the Alpha?" Theo's voice was showing his true intentions for the woman. "You said it was taken care of," Dory said, " you know who she is?" They could all see him moving uncomfortably in his chair, they all understood that he knew, but the silence remained. "Does she know what we are?" "No." All of them were waiting for more but Dylan did not say another word and seeing that none of them would get more than that Alan decided to finish the conversation for now. "Since it is taken care of and our secret is still secure," making a side note to try to figure out how much Theo knows about it, "let us continue, the next week we need to be focused." All brushed the subject aside but continued to glance at Dylan now and then. After business hours: Dylan was getting ready to call it for the day, sending the last emails he let his body sink on the chair, a knock on the door, and the mind link from Dory to get permission, he gave and she walk inside. "We are all ready to leave." His eyebrow stood up. "We?" He usually would go alone, Dory with Alan, and Theo... Well, he was never sure with who, always a different person. "Alan, Theo, and Me." He could tell that they were worried about him, and also curious about what happened, but he was too much on the edge to deal with all of them. "You guys can go, I am finishing some emails." He lied knowing too much. The times that the other humans died seemed to be easier than this time with her, thoughts about everything concerning her took over his mind, it was not the mate bound, he as seen too many mates realize that still, he could not forget her. "Dylan," her worrying voice made him look up into her eyes "is she alive?" He had loved her once, not with the mate bound but love... Love? Could it be? "She is fine, living her life not even remembering me." Those words hurt more than he thought. Remembering her smell, he remembered him. 'How much does he know? Did he sleep with her? That why the same smell?' "Five minutes." She looked troubled by the change of heart, he only wanted to know how much Alan knows. Leaving to the parking lot with Alan and Theo waiting near the cars. "Theo mind going with Dory, I still have some business with him." Alan looks questioning, Dylan just got inside the car waiting and once inside he closed the window to the driver seat and all communications. "Why does our new assistant have the same smell as you?" After the conversation earlier Alan was waiting for something. "Is that why you said earlier that I need to change my cologne?" Dylan just stared waiting, "Yesterday she collapsed on the elevator door of the garage." Dylan's eyes widen at the information. "Why?" Alan was looking and thinking about how much he should share, but since Theo showed curiosity related to her, the decision was to tell what he knows, at least for that day. "She smelled like Theo." Dylan's breath turned heavy. "She didn’t have any documents with her, so I took her to the packhouse and called a doctor." "Was she that hurt?" Dylan's voice was of guilt, like main she was not so fine when she ran away from him. "Exhausted only, but she slept until morning, that’s why she was my smell, I don’t have woman products." "You should have." Alan twisted his nose at that remark. "Don’t tell me you have?" Dylan's face dropped, making Alan regret it. "Sorry brother, I understand how hard it becomes for us without a mate." "Still, why did she smell like Theo?" "Not sure how much he knows, but it is nothing than a fling like the ones he has I am not the one that is going to give him more information about her." "In that aspect, I agree." Looking at each other, there was a question that they both wanted to say but could not, so the rest of the journey was quiet with the question hanging above their heads. 'Do you want her?'
