Alex couldn’t help saying it directly after realizing that Lyra didn’t catch the hints he’s been trying to tell her. He was left a bit helpless.
Unfortunately, Alex couldn’t blame her. Aside from losing her memories, any mortal, or rather person, who never knew the existence of the underworld, would really feel surprised after knowing about it. What more about Lyra’s situation.
Before Lyra could breathe a sigh of relief despite being worried that it was her mother who had wolf blood, the idea was totally shattered.
"Firstly, your father was not a werewolf, but your mother is," Alex finally said, not minding the sudden changes in Lyra’s expression. He knew it would be of no use if he didn’t say it clearly.
"And secondly, you’re not a hybrid of a human and a wolf, but a rare wolf and vampire. Which means, your father is a vampire.” Alex added another bomb that exploded in Lyra's mind.
Thunderstruck, Lyra finally didn’t know how to react. She was stunned and frozen first when Alex told her that it was her mother who was the source of her werewolf blood.
Although she was unwittingly able to accept that it was indeed her mother, Lyra didn’t expect that her father was actually a vampire, and not a human at all.
What does that mean? It can only mean that she was actually one of the so-called ‘Forbidden One’s that Alex mentioned to her earlier.
What makes it worse is the fact that they are likely to be hunted and killed! How then would she live or survive from now on?!
These thoughts made her mind suddenly explode. Lyra’s mind completely turned blank and she was frozen on the spot.
She could feel her body suddenly turning cold. Beads of sweat began forming on her forehead, even her back started to get soaked in sweat.
However, it didn’t take long for her mind to start running again.
Lyra tried hard to remember if her mother had ever exhibited any sign of being a werewolf, but she couldn’t think of any.
She felt like she would go insane with the numerous questions that keep on popping in her mind.
As far as she could remember, her mother was just a regular housewife that easily got tired when she tried to do heavy work at home.
Werewolves are strong, aren’t they? But why did her mother behave more like a human?
Did something happen to her mother for her to end up being weak? Or, was she pretending?
It was mentioned earlier that werewolves are no different from ordinary humans other than having stronger bodies and unbelievable strength, but her mother did not seem to have any of these attributes.
What about forcing a werewolf to turn back into their wolf form on a full moon?
It was also stated earlier that although they are no longer restricted like in the past, there are still some who were still affected by the full moon, but her mother seemed fine every full moon.
If her mother was a werewolf, was she one of those who were not affected by the full moon?
As for her father, he didn't stay at home too often. He would frequently leave for work since his job was far away. Oftentimes, it would take him months before he could come back.
Another point, it was said that vampires are extraordinarily beautiful creatures, but her father's countenance looked average.
Sometimes, she would even tell him that he looked ugly and that she took after her mother's visage which was why she looked cute.
Could he not be one of those vampires who had a beautiful appearance? It's possible.
But thinking about it, her visage before was far different from what she looked like now.
Then again, the changes in her countenance could possibly be because of the experiment.
But what really was her real appearance?
Anyhow, since her father was a vampire, was he the type who drinks human or animal blood? Or perhaps, he was drinking her mother’s blood?
How was he able to stay under the sun? Was her father used to standing under the sunlight? Or he was a pure vampire so he could withstand it?
Was everything she knew even real? Or are her parents pretending?
If everything was true, and her parents were vampires and werewolves, what Lyra had never imagined was that there was a great secret her parents were hiding from her.
Alex mentioned that werewolves and vampires are enemies, so how was it possible for her parents to come together as husband and wife? Or was she an accident?
If yes, was the father she knew her blood related father? If not, does it mean she didn't have the same father as her siblings? Or is it the other way around?
But, the crucial point is, is she even their biological child?
There were so many questions popping inside her head. Lyra couldn't wait to look for her mother to have them answered.
Then what? What about her? Did the lab succeed? Is she already a pure werewolf? What about her vampire blood?
