The woman slowly began to approach me, and I quickly took several steps back from her, desparately trying to find anything to defend myself. She raised a brow at me. "If I wanted to hurt you, trust that I would have done so already. I truly mean you no harm." I believed her, but my panic was not calmed in the slightest. I still couldn't speak, and a witch who is clearly very capable of harming me had somehow managed to sneak into my room and wait for me without being detected. Wasn't this place supposed to have a security detail? Protection charms? Something? This place was supposed to be magical, for heavens' sake.
