He then woke up in a laboratory and he's chained to a bed. A man came over and said "Goodmorning Subject 071, ready for trials?". He then unchained Spencer and told him to grab the rock in front of him, the stone melted like it was in a volcano when he grabbed it. "What did you do?!" Said Spencer. "I didn’t do anything. You caught on fire entering the Earth’s atmosphere and you had some alien energy infused into your skin. Instead of burning you, it rewrote your DNA so you can do all kinds of things with fire," The man replied.
They trained him and basically turned him into a killing machine. They made him throw fireballs at test dummies, fire blast a brick wall, and survive in very cold areas using his heat powers to keep in warm. They worked him for weeks until he could fight and fend or himself using his new abilities.
“Doctor Wolfe, the Titan Serum is ready for testing,” Said a scientist. “Okay prepare phase 1,” said the man who experimented on Spencer. Dr. Wolfe looked at a screen with a bunch of inferred light ranges. “Looks like you can get up to 400 degrees. Hot enough to melt someone’s face off. Better yet, you’ll probably turn someone to ashes instead,” said the scientist.
