The packhouse was as silent as a grave for weeks following Jaxon and Corey’s departure.  Anna spent the first week a sobbing mess and the next two in a silent rage. By the fourth week, she had simmered into the darkest depression Charlie had ever seen.  Dark circles hung heavy beneath her eyes no matter how much she slept. Her skin was dull and her face sunken in as she almost always skipped meals unless Charlie was there to force her to eat. She only bathed at all when Charlie dragged her into the tub and sat beside it washing her hair and trying to ease her pain as best she could.  But Anna was too heart-broken to be fixed. She knew it and deep down Charlie did too. There was nothing anyone could do to heal what hurt her other than to return Corey and Jaxon to her.  Charlie took over
