Charlie had dragged her tired aching body into the shower then quickly into some clean clothes. She did not want to look any longer at the bruising around her biceps and her neck from where Jason had assaulted her last night. Her eyes were bloodshot from all the crying and her head hurt with a dull ache from the lack of restful sleep. It seemed like every time she started to really fall asleep her mind replayed the encounter with Jason. All night she had tossed and turned trying to block the ache she felt when she thought about Jason.  How did I miss this? How did I not notice drug use and cheating?!
