Charlie finally arrived home that night on her own for the first time in a few days. She had gone to Anna’s and packed them some things then saw Corey and Jamie off before heading back to the shop to close up. She was exhausted yet somehow incredibly energized. Her body hummed with anticipation for the future and craved more kisses from Jamie.
She fed the dogs then walked back to double-check her front door locks before curling into bed with a book and some tea.
