Before Charlie even had her seatbelt all the way off Jamie was beside her door and pulling it open for her. She smiled as she stepped out and his scent hit her even more. His arms were soon around her pulling her tightly into his embrace. She felt the tears threatening to reappear but she bit them back and just let him hold her a moment.
“Is it too much to say I missed you even if it's only been about a day since I last saw you?”
His voice was rough and sleepy sounding as he quietly spoke to her. She just shook her head against him in response. Too scared if she spoke that she might burst into tears from all the emotions, good and bad, that were brimming inside her. Like a dam about to break and she did not want to drown him in her problems.
