It all happened so fast.
One minute, I was staring at a file in front of my desk when Tristan, my gamma, suddenly walked into my office. It was strange to see him; we only interacted if he had urgent information that couldn't be relayed through Silver and also if it was a serious matter that needed to be discussed in person.
“War Alpha,” he called as he entered my office. “They’re here?”
I raised an eyebrow, having no idea who he meant. “They who?”
“The royal guards,” he replied sharply. “They suddenly appeared at the border, and we couldn’t stop them. They said they are here on royal duties.”
