On the way back home Geoffrey and you did not say a word. You were with your head down trying not to cry in front of him. Geoffrey was really mad that you had gotten in a fight with his girlfriend. Little did he know that his girlfriend was the one who started first but he didn't even let you explain your side of the story on what happened. When you and Geoffrey arrived home he thanked your brother for giving him a ride home.
YN: Geoffrey can you please let me explain what happened. (walking behind him)
Geoffrey: YN please leave me alone I don't ever want to talk to you again. Not after what you did to my girlfriend. ( turning around to face you)
Alex: YN come on let's go get that blood cleaned up from elbows and the scratch on face.
YN: okay Alex ( looking down sad )
When YN and Alex got in the house your grandma saw that you were hurt. You explained everything that happened and your grandma understood that you were just defending yourself. However, your grandfather would not understand he was very strict and old-fashioned when it came to discipline. At dinner time your grandma talked to your grandfather about what had happened at school but he didn't like the fact that you were fighting.
YN's Grandfather: YN why are fighting at school that's not what I send you to school to do!
YN: I know but I was defending myself grandpa ( you whispered to yourself)
YN's Grandfather: Did just talk back to me young lady!! ( your grandpa grabbed you by the arm and took you to your room)
Your window from your room was opened and everyone could the yelling that your grandfather was making. YN's room was right across from Geoffrey's room. He heard the yelling and looked through his window to see that your grandfather was yelling at you. He also saw that your grandpa had taken off his belt and about to hit with it.
However, he didn't because your brothers interfered so that grandpa didn't hit you. YN's grandfather got really mad and got everyone out of your room. He locked the door from the outside so that you wouldn't get out. You were ground until the end of the year and would not be able to see your friends or go on the field trip. YN sat in the corner of the room with her head down and started to cry. You didn't realize your window was opened and that Geoffrey had seen everything that happened to you. After crying for a while you got up to close your window. Then you saw that Geoffrey was looking through his window at yours. YN quickly closed the window and the curtains before Geoffrey could say anything to you.
The months had quickly passed by YN would go to school and quickly come home. You had not talked to Geoffrey ever since the fight and the only true friend was Eli. Eli had found out what had happened to you and she couldn't believe what Geoffrey had done to you. When the last the of school came everybody in your class and Mrs. Romero's class went to the beach except for you. The field trip was on Saturday so you didn't miss much. It was the first week into summer vacation and your grandfather had told you that you were going to move to California to stay with your other grandparents. YN was in shock because you didn't want your family and Eli behind.
The first week of summer vacation Geoffrey found that Kathy was dating him because she made a bet with some other kid. Kathy told him that she was the one who started the fight with NY. Geoffrey was mad at Kathy for what she did YN. He decides to go apologize to YN for what he had done to her. So he brought some roses and a teddy bear for YN hope that she would forgive him. It was Friday Geoffrey went over to the NY house knocked on the door. YN Grandma had opened the door.
Geoffrey: Good Afternoon Mrs. Lucy may I speak to YN
Mrs.Lucy: I'm sorry Geoffrey but YN is not home (tearing up)
Geoffrey: oh when will she be home
Mrs.Lucy: Geoffrey she not coming home her grandpa sent to California.
Geoffrey: wait she not coming back
why did her grandpa sent to California?
Mrs.Lucy: well her grandpa found that YN got in a fight and doesn't tolerate bad behavior in school.
Geoffrey: oh no this all my fault I should YN let explain her side of the story.
When will she back?
Mrs.Lucy: It's not your fault Geoffrey. YN not coming back until she older.
