I needed silence after the pack meeting. I went up to our room and sat at her desk to wait for her. There are several stacks of notes and textbooks but there's one that stands out. Erewhon. Over the Range. I remember when it first came out in eighteen seventy-two. It wasn't very popular but it left an impact.
The book looks old. The spine is broken, the pages are barely hanging on, and there's tape keeping the back cover from coming off the book. I read this book once, not because I didn't like it but because it felt too real. I couldn't bear it and I put the book away without finishing it.
