“I don’t think that’d be possible, today.” Sylvia said sternly, looking down at the documents on her table. Paul becomes so angry within but covers his emotions with a smile. Paul stands, arranging his sleeves. “It’s alright.” He said. “Really don’t want to pressure you in your decision making.” He says as he moves away from her. Paul walks away, leaving Sylvia alone at her desk. Paul walks out of the room, and Sylvia lets out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. She sits back in her chair, feeling a mix of relief and ease. “Phew…thank goodness he left.” Said Sylvia as she heaves a sigh of relief. She wishes to stay away from Paul as much as she can, but that isn’t possible as Paul is her boss and she’s secretary to the company. Sylvia arranges the documents and files laying bare on her table, in front of her in a bid to round up the day’s activities. She heads out of the office, taking the elevator to the first floor at the bottom. Suddenly, it begins to rain… “Arghhh, I didn’t bring my umbrella.” She said, grumbling as she heads to the entrance of the building. Sylvia becomes drenched right in front of the tall office building where she worked. “I could give you a ride.” A familiar voice said from behind. Sylvia turns back to see who it was. It was Paul, coming from behind with an umbrella in his right hand. “If you don’t mind.” Paul said, not backing down. At this point, Sylvia knew she had no other choice to make. Today isn’t like any other day where she’d catch a train going downtown where she leaves. “Okay.” She said, with a shy look at him. She reaches for his umbrella and they both walk down to the parking lot where Paul’s car os parked. Paul owns a new brand Mercedes Benz. The latest of the brand in the entire New York. As a successful business emperor, that’s the least of his fleet. On getting to where his car is parked, Paul presses a button on his car key holder. Immediately, the driver’s and front seat opens up. He leads Sylvia to her seat gets over to his. He kick-starts the car… “In all our meetings, you’ve not told me where you stay.” He says, looking at Sylvia who’s already shivering at the side. H notices, and cuts in... “May I get you a coat?” Sylvia stays mute as she has been drenched by the rain for a while before Paul came to her rescue. He stretches his arms to the back seat where his suit was hanged and wore it on her. “T…Thanks” Sylvia said still shivering and her teeth clicking together. She calms off the cold a bit and responds to his question. “We probably didn’t get enough time to discuss about it.” Half way from the office, Paul switches on the radio in the sound system control at the center of his car to get a forecast. Few seconds into the broadcast, a man speaks… “This is Mark Richards reporting life from New York podcast station. We have situation reports reaching us now from downtown, west hills and mountain view” He said. “News just reaching us about thunderstorm and flooding in those areas. We advice that everyone in and around that area thread carefully.” The reporter said. Sylvia, in a state of shock, on the edge of her seat… “Papa!...” Paul is left in the blues, wondering what was going on. “That is where I live!” She said, sitting at edge of her seat. “Westhillls?” Paul intruded. “No, downtown!” Sylvia said, looking more frightened and tensed. “My father is at home alone. He has a stroke. I would have called him but he has issues with speaking.” She said feeling so tensed. Her face changing gradually into a brick red color. “Calm down, Sylvia.” Paul said as he reduces the acceleration of his car. “Let’s just assume your dad is fine.” He said, reaching out to her left arm and patting her. “It's not possible you go home tonight. I really can’t let you go.” He said. “Maybe you come stay over at my mansion just for tonight?” He asked… Sylvia bewildered by the turn of events, looking so worried. “How about my dad? He’s down with stroke.” Paul slowly presses the brakes. He turns to her “ Let’s just assume he’s fine. You really can’t be going that far tonight. You’ll stay with me.” Paul protested. Sylvia calms a bit and rests her back on the chair she sat on. Paul hits on the accelerator and diverts route to his mansion. “We’ve arrived” Paul said, as he winds down on the accelerator. Sylvia who already was asleep wakes up to meet herself in front of Billionaire CEO, Paul Tyler’s mansion. They both get down from his car and stands right in front of the main door to the living room. Gazing at the magnanimous sight it brings, Sylvia had no choice but to admire Paul’s mansion. “Wow!” She said while staring surprisingly at his house. “We should get you a coffee to drink to shove off the cold.” Paul said, interrupting the moment. He leads her into the living room up the stairs and down to his room. “You’ll be fine here, I guess?” Paul said as she gives her a seat in front of the full-length mirror in his room. “I leave now and probably come back to check on you later. If there’s anything you need, kindly press the buttons.” He said, gesturing at the telephone in the table next to the door. Sylvia relives herself off the coat she was given by Paul. She sits in front of the mirror an unbinds her hair. Sylvia has a very long cream hair which would make any man go nuts. She gets a comb and begins to brush it. She a towel and heads straight to the bathroom to get a bath with hot water. Right there as she was having a bath, someone stretches her towel to her. Sylvia becomes shocked of who it was.
