Chapter 2 - A Hot Man

1115 Words
With the report in his hand, Kevin walked around the hotel, checking the performance of all staff and supervising every guest who entered and left. However, for all employees and guests, the man did not seem to be working. He was showcasing his handsomeness to win over every woman’s heart. Every pair of eyes gazed at him, as if he were an exclusive statue carved by the world’s craftsmen. His strong aura caused every woman to melt with just one glance. Kevin grunted softly without taking his eyes off the document. That was why he hated working with women. They were always unfocused. He loosened his tie to ease the tightness in his chest from excessive attention, but that small action only brought a stifled scream from the women around him. Kevin clicked his tongue, glancing briefly at his loyal secretary standing behind him. “Let’s go back to my room.” He turned his body with firm and rhythmic steps. His shining blonde hair was neatly arranged, emphasizing his perfect look and his sharp chin was lifted arrogantly as he passed by the people. He entered the spacious room with a glass plaque on the desk tittled Chief Executive Officer. Kevin took off his jacket, loosened his tie and took a few deep breaths. His sparkling blue eyes shone brightly even though no one was in the room. Kevin Lawson, well-known as the hottest man in the entire city of Manhattan that no one could sniff out his private life even though he was often highlighted both in national and international tabloids. This cold-hearted man also well-known to always hurt the hearts of women. However, Kevin didn’t care how many women he had hurt. For him those women came like moths to a flame. Therefore, he didn’t want to waste time with all the unnecessary drama about love and romance. “Excuse me, Sir,” a soft knock sounded at the door. “Come in.” Huges Andreas, Kevin’s secretary, walked in with some documents. “You need to sign this.” Huges placed the stack of papers on Kevin’s desk. Kevin opened the top document and frowned, glaring sharply at Huges. “I’ve told you I don’t want this bar to be a hotel partner. I don’t want them to be our alcohol supplier. Get rid of them. Even if they beg, don’t let them be part of the Moon Light Hotel. I won’t let them tarnish the image of my hotel.” “But their alcohol is of the best quality, Sir. They will also send their best bartender.” “Who cares? A bar that sells underage girls who are even suitable to be my nieces will only tarnish the hotel’s image.” “Alright, Sir. I’ll put it on the blacklist. Please have a check on the other proposals.” Huges opened the next document and let Kevin focus completely. Not only was he acted so cold to women, Kevin was also known as a cruel devil in the hospitality industry. He could throw a partner without hesitation just for a small mistake. Kevin hated people who lacked self-awareness and thought they would be okay after making a mistake. “Move all my schedules to today. I want to meet all the owners of these bars.” With quick and agile gestures, Kevin separated the proposals that he deemed good and threw away the others like useless trash. “Do it quickly. You know I always hate wasting time.” *** Aerin had just finished organizing the items on her desk when her phone vibrated and a message from Kevin made her inhale sharply. Kevin: I will come to your apartment tonight. Aerin sighed. Not bored, but she was just tired of facing Kevin’s cold attitude every time they were not on the bed, as if she was only needed as a mere satisfaction of his lust. Ah, she forgot. Wasn’t that how it always was? Kevin never loved any woman in his life. He made Aerin his lover only to satisfy his desire. “No, Aerin. Not even a lover,” she murmured with a bitter voice. Kevin Lawson didn’t need love from a woman. Aerin remembered when Kevin offered her something crazy a year ago, persuading her with money and all kinds of luxury as long as she agreed to be a lover who should not be known by anyone. Now Aerin could enjoy all those luxuries. A luxurious apartment, a cute but expensive car, also all kinds of jewelry and branded clothing. Yeah, Aerin was truly spoiled by Kevin. But Aerin wasn’t happy, not even a bit. This time, you could call it that money wouldn’t always bring happiness. On the one hand, she was disgusted with herself, and on the other hand, she hoped that someday Kevin would see her as a woman worth loving. Aerin smiled sadly. It sounded impossible. She took a deep breath, exiting the division with the door labeled general affair, then going down to the basement to drive the car also bought by Kevin. Before turning on the engine, she sent a message to Kevin. ‘Come in two hours, I need to prepare myself.’ She needed to prepare her heart tonight so she wouldn’t be hurt again, even though it was all meaningless. Aerin didn’t know when she had fallen in love with Kevin. Maybe it was when Kevin hugged her gently for the first time on the bed. When he rubbed his rough skin against Aerin’s skin that was as smooth as silk. Or maybe it was when Kevin looked at her with such a needy look. Or perhaps when he frowned to hold back his wild desire so as not to hurt Aerin too much. It was as if there were two sides to Kevin Lawson. First, as a ruthless and mysterious successful businessman who could conquer anyone with just one glance. Then the second was when Kevin desperately needed Aerin in bed, treating her like a fragile glass vase that could break at any time. It made Aerin always think that maybe the man had the same feelings as her. Aerin arrived at her apartment. She swiped the card and the door opened immediately. She didn’t know how much the apartment cost, but it was clear that she couldn’t estimate it. Kevin provided it complete with papers in Aerin’s name, so that when they separated later-or more precisely when Kevin was already bored with her-Aerin could fully own the apartment. Aerin took off all her clothes and walked into the bathroom. As promised to Kevin, she would prepare herself to be as beautiful as possible for him.
