1324 Words
Aerin had just sprayed cherry-scented perfume on her body when the apartment door opened. Firm and heavy steps approached. It was definitely Kevin. Aerin waited for the door to open, and finally Kevin appeared with his jacket draped over his shoulder and his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He stared straight at Aerin and acted cool as usual. Kevin passed by Aerin, placing his jacket on the sofa, and then headed to the bathroom. “I’ve prepared the bathwater,” Aerin replied, but it wasn’t enough to make Kevin turn around to face her. Aerin was already used to being ignored outside the bedroom, but she still felt disappointed. However, she wanted to show her sincerity to Kevin. “I’ll make you a cup of hot tea, too.” Aerin took a step to leave, but suddenly her stomach cramped and she felt like vomiting right then and there. She glanced at the almost closed bathroom door. No. She didn’t have much time left. She could throw up here and dirty the room. So, Aerin rushed into the bathroom that Kevin would lock in three seconds. She slipped over to the sink and made Kevin furrow his brow in confusion and dislike. Apart from being greedy, he disliked people who didn’t have manners. However, Kevin didn’t expect the rudeness to come from Aerin, a woman who always obeyed his every word that now vomiting with a loud sound. The pain in Aerin’s stomach rose to her head, and she vomited all of her dinner into the sink. It was awful. She groaned as the pain didn’t subside, while cleaning the remnants of vomit from her face. She winced while holding her stomach. Without warning, Kevin hugged her stomach with a scrutinizing gaze, noticing Aerin’s pale face through the bathroom mirror. “What’s wrong, Aerin?” Returning Kevin’s gaze through the mirror, Aerin found no concern in his eyes, only a perfunctory question to a partner who happened to be sick. A formality considering Kevin’s attitude until now. “Just nauseous. I think I ate something wrong today.” “Pay attention to your food for next, Aerin. Just eat healthy food.” Aerin nodded while trying to hold herself back from groaning, but Kevin didn’t release his grip on her stomach. Instead, he brought her closer to him, sniffing Aerin’s hair while closing his eyes. “You smell so good.” Aerin was extremely nervous. They weren’t in bed, but sometimes Kevin would do things like this as a natural gesture for a couple in love. Kevin’s eyes widened and pierced Aerin through the mirror, his blue eyes staring at her sharply as if he would suck out her soul. Just like that, the pain in Aerin’s stomach was replaced with nervousness and fascination. She was fascinated by anything in Kevin’s personality, every action he did, Aerin was always mesmerized. She couldn’t blink and divert her gaze from the mirror. “Are you done?” He whispered in Aerin’s ear while placing his lips on her hair. Aerin nodded without understanding the meaning of Kevin’s question. She was dazed and forgot about her continuing pain. “Then go out and take some stomach medicine, or anything that can ease your pain.” Eventhough Kevin suggested her to go, but his hug didn’t release at all. He was still sniffing Aerin’s hair and hugging her stomach even tighter. If Kevin continued to act like this, Aerin could conclude something irretrievable in her mind, that Kevin wasn’t as cold as he seemed, that Kevin was also falling in love with--- “Go out.” This time, Kevin pushed Aerin’s shoulder gently and pointed to the door. “I need to take a shower. No need to make tea for me. Just take the medicine for you.” Aerin stumbled out of the bathroom, looking for digestive medicine in the nightstand drawer and the wardrobe. Her stomach felt like it was being stabbed and was hot. “I only had salad earlier, what’s wrong?” she murmured, finding the medicine for digestion. She quickly swallowed a pill and washed it down with a glass of water on the nightstand. She still felt nauseous, suddenly her own perfume made her stomach churn and she wanted to vomit again. If she waited for Kevin to come out of the bathroom, the bed she was sitting on would be dirtied by her vomit and Kevin would be very angry. Aerin immediately ran to the kitchen and chose to empty the contents of her stomach into the dishwashing sink. She had never felt such a strange feeling. The continuous combination of pain, cramping, breathlessness, dizziness, and nausea was something she had never experienced before. It was tormenting. Yet, soon Kevin would come out of the bathroom and demand his nightly ‘request’. “What should I do?” She took water from the refrigerator and drank it, but once again, Aerin ran to the sink to vomit. Her stomach felt like it was boiling. Aerin began to feel dizzy, and she had to lean on the edge of the sink to stay standing. She felt nauseous again, but her head felt too heavy to lean down to the sink. As she heard a faint sound behind her, Aerin’s vision began to darken, and three seconds later, she collapsed to the floor. *** Aerin woke up to a room that was still brightly lit. She narrowed her eyes as her vision was blurred. A sharp pain stung her head as she moved. Had the pain not subsided? She remembered falling over in the kitchen because of dizziness. She wiped her face and suddenly realized that there was a strong hand wrapped around her stomach. Although the dizziness still remained, Aerin forced herself to turn around and found the broad chest she had often seen. She lifted her head and met Kevin, who was breathing regularly with his eyes closed. What happened? Why was Kevin hugging her so intimate like this? “Is your stomach still hurting?” Aerin blinked as Kevin’s lips moved, and his husky voice soothed her ear. “Ah, yes, a little bit.” “Have you taken the medicine?” Kevin’s eyes were still closed and his arm didn’t release her waist. Aerin nodded even though she knew Kevin wouldn’t see it. “What else hurts that you might pass out again?” “I...just feel dizzy and nauseous.” “I will have Huges take you to the hospital tomorrow.” “No need. It will heal tomorrow.” Kevin suddenly opened his eyes then narrowed them at Aerin. “I never expect you’re this stupid, Aerin. No pain will heal if you do nothing.” “I can go alone if that’s the case.” Kevin’s lips tightened, indicating that Aerin couldn’t argue anymore. “I’ll get a more detailed report if you are with Huges.” Huges, the tall man who was no less cold than Kevin, always had a professional attitude, but he was no different from Kevin. Stiff and indifferent to what’s around him. “Alright.” Aerin had to give in. Nothing would go smoothly if she continued to argue with Kevin. “Good, go back to sleep.” Aerin looked at Kevin again. “Are we not going to do ‘it’?” She blinked because she couldn’t find the right word to replace the word ‘s*x’. It seemed that Kevin understood. His forehead creased. “Do you think I’m an animal? I know my desire is crazy, Aerin, but I’m not low enough to vent it on someone in sick.” Those words were spoken coldly, with a sharp and piercing gaze, but somehow Aerin’s heart beat rapidly again. “Now, sleep. You need energy for tomorrow.” Kevin buried Aerin’s head in his warm and pulsating chest. He wrapped her petite body with a possessive embrace.
