Chapter 2

"I want you to change your uniform. From now on, you'll never be wearing a skirt. And from this moment on, you should not tie your hair like that." I frowned and later raised an eyebrow at him. He is very demanding! Does he think it will make him more handsome? "Stop exposing your neck. You'll not be going outside without my permission, and the most important thing is... in every meeting and out of town that I will be attending, you must be there. Understand, Miss Park?" He playfully smiled at me and bit his lower lip as if he were trying to sed*ce me. I nodded and faked a smile. "You're planning not to report tomorrow?" He asked out of the blue. How did he know what I was planning? Is he reading my mind? Impossible! "Tsk, love, stop thinking too much." He shook his head. "Stop calling me love. Andrea is my name," I corrected him. I don't like the way he calls me. That endearment is only for Alden and me. "What if I don't stop? What will you do?" He smirked again, which definitely made me annoyed. "I will resign. Do you think I won't be able to find a new job? I am smart and 100 percent sure that it won't be hard for me to be hired." I stood up and walked toward his table. "Try me, Mr. Valmer. You're just the twin of my boyfriend; don't expect that I will treat you like I treated him. If you want to be respected, respect me too." "Oh, come on, Miss Park. You'll never do that. Resigning? Impossible! Stop pretending; I know that you are in need of a big amount of money. You need my help, right?" Did Alden tell him everything about me? My hands were shaking, and I averted my gaze away from him. "Did Alden really treat you right? Let me remind you, obsession is different from love." He stood up and started playing the end of my hair. "You wasted your time loving him. He used you. Isn't that enough for you to be mad at him?" I tried my best to hold back my tears. "He can't do that to me. Alden loves me, and I can feel that." "What if I told you that he is not really dead? Will you still not be mad at him?" This man is creating a big mountain in my life. Why is he telling me those things? What's his purpose for doing this? "Are you mad at Alden? It seems like you're trying to ruin his good image," I stated, taking a deep breath. "I am just telling the truth. Let go of those memories that you have with him because everything was a lie, Andrea. Alden is a rebellious child, and he is the one who puts our family's lives at stake." "And why are you telling me about that?" My tears started falling. This revelation is even more heartbreaking than his death. "Because I want you to wake up. Your grandma needs your help." He gave me an envelope. I immediately opened it and saw the health records of my grandmother. "I can help you, but you have to deal with me." "So you did research on me? Wow, nice!" I clapped my hands. "Sorry, but I will never accept a deal from you. Yes, I can't resign right now, but as soon as I find a new job, you'll never see me again. I can save my grandma without your help!" "I will give you more time to think. Save your grandmother's life and discover everything about Alden. Just tell me if you have your final decision," he softly whispered to me. Someone knocked on the door, so I volunteered to open it. "Good evening, Miss Park; there is someone searching for Mr. Valmer," Natasha stated. "He is here. Come in." I opened the door widely and let the tall guy in. "Our new boss is scary," Tasha whispered to me. "Spoiled brat, I think," I answered, rolling my eyes. I heard him chuckle, and the man he was talking with burst into laughter. "Excuse me, Rea. Be careful always and be kind to Mr. Valmer." Tasha waved her hands as she walked away. "He is Kiel Anthony Dicullae," Andrew said as I closed the door. "Nice meeting you, Miss Park!" The man named Kiel said to me and bowed. I smiled at him in response. "Kiel is the CEO of Vandellom Company," Andrew stated. I just look at them. I don't know what they want me to do. "Nice meeting you, Mr. Dicullae! I am Mr. Valmer's secretary." I smiled, trying hard to be brave in front of them. "Mr. Valmer said that he was impressed with your performance," Mr. Dicullae said. I was trapped thinking about the performance to which Andrew was referring. I faked a laugh, not to be awkward. "By the way, Miss Park, Vandellom Company will be our new business partner, as will Astreom Company. Be familiar with them," Andrew added. I just nodded and took notes. I never thought my life would be more memorable than it is. "Kindly mark the calendar: tomorrow at 10:00 am, I and Mr. Dicullae, together with Mr. Hanilton, will be having a meeting at Jaira's resort." And don't tell me I have to go with him. "Yes, you are obliged to be with me. But do not worry, Mr. Dicullae and Mr. Hanilton's secretary will be there too." I looked at him suspiciously. How is he able to predict my questions? I became more confused when Mr. Dicullae laughed again and made eye contact with Andrew. These two men are really making me crazy. "Miss Park, are you still with me?" Suddenly, Andrew called me. I nodded and smiled. "Can you repeat what I said?" My eyes automatically widened. I wasn't able to hear what he was saying and wasn't able to notice that Mr. Dicullae had already left. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention," I uttered. "It's okay, but next time, pay attention to me." He went back to his chair and began signing some documents. I keep my eyes on him. Is he really only a twin of Alden? Everything in his appearance seems to be a photocopy of Alden. They only differ in their attitudes. He told me about Alden's death being fake. And everything was a lie. I hate this man. But how could I know the truth if I did not go with the flow? "What if I accepted your deal? What would it be?"
