Chapter 2

Ella woke up to her phone ringing loudly and saw it was Lexy calling her best friend she was about to pick up when she realised she was in someone's embrace. She looked up and saw an unfamiliar face.

She jumped out of the bed

Kai woke up due to the sudden movements.

"Who are you?" she questioned

Kai looked at her and raised a brow

And then she remembered, the laughter, the long conversations, and then the kiss. Her kiss. She groaned and ran a hand over her face, the shame hot and immediate.

She removed her hands from her face, she tried to remember if anything else happened after the kiss but she couldn't remember anything.

She looked up at him

Not..hing... happened l-lastnight right? she asked

"Why, do you hope something happened?" Kai said

She looked at him and she was about to speak

"Except for the fact to forcefully kiss me, nothing else happened" he replied with a smirk

Ella was so embarrassed by the statement she wanted the ground to open up and swallow her. She quickly tried to apologize

"I'm sorry, I was drunk-"

"Don't need to apologize, I'll get going now" he said.

As he left the room Ella went to fetch her phone to return Lexy call.

The phone got connected at the first ring.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN" Lexy screamed over the phone.

"Are you trying to destroy my ear drums" Ella replied while removing the phone from her ear.

"Where were you last night, do you know how worried I was" Lexy said.

"I'm sorry, I'm going home now I'll explain everything to you" Ella replied

"I'll meet you there and the reason must been good" Lexy said

Ella hung up.

She scrolled through her phone and saw 30 massages and 59 missed calls form Lexy asking about where she was.

Non from Ryan her so called boyfriend, Elaa didn't have strength to be disappointed she wore her shoe and took her pause and exited the hotel she entered a cab and went home.

Ella arrived at her apartment, she took a shower she changed into a loose blouse and shirts she was drying her her when Lexy arrived. She went to open the door.

"Okay, explain" Lexy said.

"You haven't even sat down yet" Ella replied.

"You better start talking" Lexy said.

Ella explained everything thing to her and lexy was shocked.

Lexy didn't say anything for a long moment. She just stared, her mouth slightly agape. "You... you met some guy at a bar, kissed him, and then went to a hotel with him?"

Ella nodded, her gaze fixed on the floor. "I know, it sounds insane."

"It's not insane," Lexy said, her voice softer now.

"It's what you do when you're completely broken. But Ella, what were you thinking?"

Ella looked up, a mix of frustration and helplessness in her eyes. "I don't know, Lexy. I was drunk I don't even know how it happened." She took a deep breath."And Ryan didn't even call. Not once. Thirty texts and fifty-nine missed calls from you, and nothing from him."

"That's because he's a selfish jerk," Lexy snapped. "He's been a selfish jerk for a while. You should have ended things with him a long time ago."

"I know," Ella whispered. "I know."

Lexy sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Okay. Okay. So, what's his name? The guy from the bar. Did you get his number?"

Ella shook her head. "No. I didn't. His name was Kai."

Lexy's expression changed. Her eyes narrowed slightly, a slow dawning of recognition in her gaze.

"Kai?" she repeated, the name sounding foreign on her lips

"He must be a real gentleman for not taking advantage of you.

"I know right it is very rare to come across people like him" Ella said smiling.

"Well..., do you like him?" Lexy asked.

"I just met him and I don't even have his number and also I have a boyfriend" Ella said.

"You call that a boyfriend, I mean if you are not happy with Ryan, break things off. He literally ghosted you and didn't even call you to ask if you got home safely I think it's high time to end it" Lexy Replied.

Ella put her head on Lexy's lap and said

I don't know what to do, I'm not happy with Ryan.
