Chapter 52 (Before the War)

Soothing breeze and chirping of the birds awaken me. The dawn looks calm. The whole place was silent. I was watching the sunrise while sipping at a steaming mug of coffee on my hand, cherishing the moment and the remaining hours of calm. I know that this might be my last dawn here on Earth. War’s endgame is death and everyone is aware of that. Despite the calm demaenor I know that everyone here fears not for their lives that will be lost but for their loved ones that will suffer when they will be gone. I have been into a lot of battles and battle scars have been a part of my life, engraved and pierced in my skin as a reminder but it still doesn’t change it’s impact.
