Chapter 12 (Rising Moon)

The time have passed and I was done with everything I need to do – cleaning the kitchen, cooking foods and having dinner. I even have cleaned myself and I am now ready to go to bed but Mon is nowhere to be found. He never came back since this morning and I am now worrying. I mean, he’s around here in the territory but I can’t tell where.

I settled on my bed and stared at the open window. The sky is dark and there was no single star nor the moon who peeked. Maybe it was because of the thick dark clouds the loomed over the placed. I decided to stand up and closed the window then I turned off the lights leaving the lampshade of the bedside table open. I nestled myself in the comfort of my bed and mattresses and soon enough, I feel asleep.

I thought I was just dreaming when I heard howls a minute ago and so I tried to go back to sleep not until the light of the moon entered my room through the open window. I walked towards it as I was enthraled by its miraculous glow when suddenly, I felt my body was on fire when the moon’s glow touched my bare skin. I feel like I was burning from deep inside.

First thing that I did was grasp my chest that was hurting too much. It feels like I was being robbed from oxygen and then my vision started to become unbalanced. I dropped on my knees on the floor and I screamed the pain that was coming from inside of my body. I looked at the full moon and I noticed it was not yellow nor silver but has a light shade of blue. Is my eyes playing tricks on me?

Another wave of pain washed me and this time, it was much intense as I can feel my bones are being broken to pieces. Inside my head, I was shouting the same thing over and over again.

“Please let this stop!!” I screamed and my other hand held my head as it felt like my skull was splitting to half.

I totally dropped my body on the cold floor but I seem to be numb from the feeling from outside my skin. Waves after waves of sickening pain and nausea washed over me and I feel like I was being robbed by energy. Am I going to die? This is so far the most painful feeling I felt since my parents’ death. I curled like a fetus and hot tears spilled on my eyes.

I heard the door burst open by force and then Mon came inside with his beta, Hyden and his wife Zevara and on their back tailed Megan. Shock was an understatement because I saw horror in their eyes as they saw me on the floor. I heard them talking something but all I hear is buzz and ringing in my ears. I shut my eyes close and I feel my body pain intensify. Then I slowly felt like I morphed into something else before I saw black.

RUST

I left early from the pack house and I headed to the training field where the weres are gathered tonight. I saw Hyden and Aquil and I nodded at them as a greeting. The weres greeted me and then lined up.

“I gather everyone here today because we are all aware that tonight is full moon. All those who have found their mates can stay while all those who have none can proceed to the cell where you will be held just for the night. Aquil, secure the borders. You know that the rogues can attack because their powers will intensify tonight too. Those who will stay on the cell, go with the Beta.”

The patrol were despersed through Aquil’s supervision while all the unmated he-wolves followed Hyden and as well as me. We reache the underground cell in the East of our territory and we chained all 40 weres securely.

“I need you to oversee everything here Hyden.”

“What about you? Are you not going to tie down yourself? I mean, your mate is near and I know that you’ll go nuts later if you can’t mate with her. I mean, I know that it is not a bad thing but we both knnow that she’s a human and you’ll creep the hell out of her when you show later being aggressive and all. She might be feeling attacked.”

I sighed when I realized that Hyden was right. I know that my wild will take over later and then all that Zoren would want to do is jump on our little mate and make love to her all night and pierce his canines on her neck. Should I really need to lock myself up here too?

“Maybe later. I still have a lot of things to do Marfori. It is still morning.”

My phone rang and I found out that it was an alarm in which I need to go to the office to finish all the things about my business. I went back to the pack house specifically on the underground where the gym and my office is situated. I opened my office’ door and I sighed when I saw the pile of papers on my desk. I turned on my laptop and waited for it to complete loading as I checked all the papers.

It was only 11 in the morning when I was done with sending emails to my business partners abroad. I was about to start settling with the pack matters when Hyden showed his face in my doorway.

“What do you need Marfori?” I asked him lazily as I sunk my butt further on the cushioned chair.

“I was wondering if you need some help here Alpha and it is near lunch already which reminds me to grab something to eat.” The he showed me a box of pizza and a box of fried chicken.

He entered even without permission and placed the food on a small table. I just rolled my eyes as I watched him as he excitedly opened the box of pizza.

“Do you think that you don’t eat that much dimwit?” I asked as I flicked my pen towards him which in turn he evaded without a sweat.

“I thought you were on diet Alpha.”

“Do you wanna die?” I growled and he raised his hand in surrender then placed all the food in front of me.

“You know what, I remember that I was on a diet and I am strictly on greens so you can all these junkies.”

“You don’t go on diet dumbass. And greens was never your liking. Tss! Just eat idiot.”

“You know what, I don’t know if you are my best friend or not. I mean, you always hurt my feelings,” he said then pouted as he grabbed a piece of fried chicken.

“The hell Marfori! Cut off that face you know. You look stupid just so you know. Anyway, next week the Blood Moon Pack wants to meet us.” He looked up at me with the bone still on his mouth before he spit it on the plastic bag. Gross.

“You mean, they coming here?” I simply nodded at him and then picked a slice of pizza and shoved it in my mouth.

It took me hours before I cleared the papers on my table which means that I was done. It was already five forty when I and Hyden decided to go back to check on the cell. When we arrived, so far everything was still in order. I ordered some Omega to bring us food and water down here and when the clock striked six fifty, we (who were inside the cell) ate dinner.

I know that any minute from now, and the moon will have effect on all of us but I see no moon up above which is caused by thick clouds forming on the skies. I sighed and sat down in one of the brass chairs inside the cell and I told Hyden to lock me up inside the cell.

“Are you sure about this now Alpha? Do you want to have those chains?” I looked at the chains that he pointed out. Those chains are about the size of my arm and are mounted on the wall to secure us when we go crazy.

“No need. I still can control Zoren. I will do my best to control him and then I still need to help you in overseeing things here.”

He nodded and then closed the door and locked it. I sat back on the brass chair and I can feel the cold metal seeped on my skin. I sighed then I closed my eyes as I tried to drift to sleep. I glanced at the glass where we can see the night sky and sooner, the moon rose. The clouds gave way to the ethereal ball of light and I can feel Zoren wanting to take over.

“Let me out i***t!” he growled in my head as I tried to push him back.

“Please behave now Zoren. I need to do this so as not to scare our mate.” I heard him growl but I paid him no attention. As the other were inside shifted and tried to get away from the chains the moon went higher and higher.

“Zoren, I will let you out but don’t do anything stupid. Our mate is a human so we can’t force her. She’s afraid of our kind. Promise me that. But we need to let these were calm down.”

Zoren just rolled his eyes and I felt myself morphed into my wild. I growled and I heard the other wolves whimpered, submitting to me. They bowed their heads and never met my eyes as a sign of submission to their Alpha. I howled at the full moon and they followed through, howling their hearts out, wishing only for one thing – be blessed with a mate who can fully accept our nature.

The weres inside calm down and then I felt a weirdly hot inside aand it intensified. I dominated over Zoren and grabbed one shorts hangiing around and then slipped on it.

“Mate is in pain!” I exclaimed before I dashed out of the cell with Hyden hot on my heels.
