Shower All during their meal, Brix cast surreptitious glances at the woman sitting across from him. He had to force himself to eat, despite the delicious meal. In less than twenty-four hours she would be lost to him again. He’d have to leave her behind, and the realization was tearing him apart. She was his Samra, despite the unimportant differences. She belonged to him more than she did to that asshole Brixton. She didn’t deserve the way that man treated her, but he understood why she stuck with him. She loved him, in spite of the man’s flaws. That was Samra. She stuck by the people she cared for. She always had. He’d seen her go down in flames after a person she’d known since high school suddenly bailed on her for some ludicrous reason.
