Rescue Brix was preparing to take his shift when the air horn from the outside PA system went off. “Cave-in! Cave-in! All personnel report immediately to the north end! This is not a drill! All personnel report immediately to the north end!” Grabbing his rifle, he hustled out of the tent and raced along the outer walkway, along with more than a dozen other men.
