A nurse stood beside the desk, flipping through a file when a voice stopped her. “Excuse me… I need information about a patient.” She looked up.“Yes Olivia, She was brought in this morning”.The nurse was astonished by his beauty for some seconds, then nodded slightly “Yes… Olivia. She’s currently under observation.” “What exactly is her condition?” he asked. The nurse adjusted her posture. “She had kidney failure,” she explained. “It was sudden, but not entirely unexpected. According to our records, she already had underlying kidney issues, and some symptoms” He remained silent. “She also experienced a severe shock,” the nurse continued. “There was an accident nearby. It didn’t involve her directly, but she witnessed it.” The man frowned slightly. “Witnessed it?”..... “Yes,” the nurse said. “The impact of the scene caused a physical reaction. Her system couldn’t handle it. Her condition worsened immediately.” She paused briefly before adding “She wasn’t alone. Another girl was with her.”. “Lisa?” he asked quietly. The nurse nodded. “Yes. Lisa fainted at the scene. She couldn’t handle what she saw either. By the time the emergency team arrived, both of them were unstable.” He looked down for a moment. “They were brought in together,” the nurse finished. Silence settled between them for a few seconds. Then he asked…Can I have the Grand finale of the bills? including Lisa and Olivia, The nurse blinked once. “For everything?” she confirmed. “Yes. Everything.” She checked the file again. “The total cost for their treatment so far, including emergency care, procedures, medicine, home services and medication…is six thousand dollars.” He shook his head slowly “six thousand dollars? …Alright.” A few minutes later, he stood at the payment desk without hesitation, The payment was made Complete The nurse glanced at him again. “Will you love to see her now,” she said. But he didn’t respond. Instead, he asked…“The other girl… Lisa. Where is she?” The nurse pointed down the hallway. “Room 12.” He nodded and turned, the hallway was quiet, His steps were steady, but something about them felt careful. Measured. He stopped in front of the door. Room 12. For a second, he didn’t move. Then he pushed the door open gently. Lisa was asleep. The room was calm. The only sound was the slow drip of the IV beside her,He stepped in quietly and his eyes fixed on her face. And the love bond began to grow in him, but he never wanted that Just then, his expression tightened. Without a word, he turned and walked out. He didn’t stop walking. Not once. He went straight back to the front desk. “The total bill for the other patient,” he said quickly. The nurse looked confused. “Lisa?” “Yes.” She checked the system. Then… He paid it.“Do you want to—”The nurse didn’t finish her sentence, because he was already gone. Outside the hospital, the air felt different. He stepped out, his heart filled with remorse of regrets. Then he left immediately. Inside the hospital, Lisa slowly opened her eyes. The light above her felt too bright at first. She blinked a few times, adjusting, her head slightly heavy. For a moment, she didn’t move, She just stared ahead trying to understand where she was. Then it started coming back slowly, like pieces of a broken memory finding their way together. Andrew… Her brows tightened slightly. She closed her eyes again briefly, then opened them, This time, she noticed the drip, the IV line connected to her hand, She stared at it for a moment. Then she looked up at the fluid slowly going down. Drop-by-drop. Olivia!!!... The memory hit her harder this time. “I need to see her…” Her voice carried a soft urgency now. The door opened slightly. A nurse stepped in. “Oh, you’re awake,” she said gently. Lisa nodded weakly. “Olivia…” she said immediately. “Where is she? I need to see her.” The nurse walked closer. “She’s awake too,” she said. “And she asked about you.” Lisa’s eyes widened slightly. “She did?” “Yes,” the nurse replied. “But you need to rest first. Once your drip is done, we’ll take you to her.” Lisa nodded slightly. “Okay… okay.” But her eyes returned to the drip again.
