Chapter 3: All three of us?

2073 Words
April POV I walked out of the dining room and made my way to the main hall when my nose filled with the scent of Charlie and Beckett. “Happy birthday b*tch!” They screamed in unison. “Thanks guys.” I said as I sat in the couch. “Birthday gift now or later?” Charlie asks. “Mom will kill you if you give it to me before the party and you know it.” I laughed. “What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her!” She smiles. “Tell me, when has she never not known?” I c*cked an eyebrow at her and she giggled. “You’re right, if I want to survive I guess I must wait.” She said. “So are you ever going to tell us what happened at the party last week?” Beckett asked and I shook my head. “Nothing I just wasn’t feeling good. That’s it.” I lied. Beckett narrowed her eyes at me. “Mmhmm. Sure. And I’m a kosher pickle. A blonde one at that.” She said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. “You are a kosher pickle, I’m glad you realize that now. I was getting kind of worried there, thought you believed you were a Lycan or something.” The corners of my mouth curled upwards as I tried to stifle my laugh. “While you guys are doing whatever it is you’re doing, I’m going to go get ready.” Charlie said. “Get ready? The party isn’t for another seven hours.” Beckett said. “Being this hot takes time.” Charlie said and she stood up and made her way out of the main hall. “She’s not wrong! Maybe we should get ready too.” Beckett says. “Not me. Not yet. I need a nap. I’ll see you guys a few hours before the party when I start getting ready.” I said. I stood up and began to make my way to my room. Really, I just want to be alone. I want to have a few hours of nothing but quiet before I have to go in front of a bunch of different people and either claim Alastair or get rejected. Today is going to be a long day. Alastair’s POV All I can think of is last week when April called me out. I know I should’ve told her.. or at least kept my d*ck in my pants but I’m obviously an i***t. She doesn’t deserve this and I don’t deserve her. She’s too good. I slept with too many random wolves and humans. She deserves someone who hasn’t disrespected the mate bond. “If you reject her I’m going to kill you.” My wolf Callum growled. “She deserves better.” I said. “She’s Lycan. She doesn’t get a second chance mate.” He snapped. “She can claim literally anyone she wants. She’s a Princess.” I said. Callum would be right, like always. But I’m too stubborn to give in. “Do you really want to make her have to choose someone else? Someone who wasn’t made specifically for her? Someone who probably has a mate out there?” Collin argued. I rolled my eyes and shoved him away. No. I have to do this. I don’t deserve her. Even if she has beautiful black hair that I want to tangle my fingers in. Or green eyes that remind me of the best parts of the forests. The curvy body I just want to devour. Stop. I can’t do this to myself. To her. I’m pulled out of my thoughts by my Dad stepping into my new office. “We will leave for the palace soon. You might want to get ready.” He said. He sat down on the loveseat across from me and smiled. “What’s the smile for?” I asked. “I’m hoping you find your mate tonight. I was certain you would on your birthday, but you never mentioned it so I assumed you didn’t.” He said. “Yeah, I don’t know if I’m going.” I said. “What? You have to go.” He demanded. I crossed my arms and leaned back into my chair. “I’m just not feeling it, Dad.” I said and he shook his head. “You’re going. It’s the Queens twins. There was never really a choice.” He said. “You’re right. Whatever. I’ll be ready shortly.” I said and he nodded and stood up. “I’ve noticed you’ve been staying in here a lot more lately. Has everything been okay?” He asked and I nodded. “Everything’s just fine.” I said. I knew he could tell I was lying but at this point I don’t really care. He turned around and left the room, leaving me alone again with my thoughts. I guess I’d better get ready for this. Aprils POV I guess I accidentally fell asleep because when I woke up and looked at the clock I realized I had an hour and a half to get ready. “Sh*t!” I got up quickly and brushed my hair. I pulled my dress from my closet and placed it on the bed. Before I hear a know I smell Beckett and Charlie and I open the door. “Holy f*ck you’ve been asleep this entire time. You know the party starts soon right? You’d better hurry and get ready!” Beckett said in a tone of panic. She pushed me down in front of my vanity mirror and began brushing my hair. “Dear goddess! Do you ever brush your hair?” Beckett scoffs as she pulls on the brush. Her blonde hair is done in a half up half down style and curled. She also has little rhinestones of all colors in it. She’s wearing a long black dress with a slit down the side and some tall silver heels. “Yes! I’m not a cave women. Need I remind you I just slept basically all day.” I grumbled. She didn’t reply and continued brushing. They began curling my hair and doing my make up while I sat there and relaxed. This.. is a great birthday gift. Aprils POV “You’re going to look so hot in this dress, April.” Charlie squealed as she picked it up. She had her blonde hair pulled completely up and into a high ponytail. She’s wearing a long baby blue dress that’s loose in here br*ast area, and it’s open in the back. “That’s the plan.” I said and smiled. She handed me the dress and I got up to go to the bathroom. “Wait! Wear this necklace, it’ll compliment the low neck line.” Beckett said. She handed me a long silver diamond choker that runs down the middle of my chest and clips around my waist. I nodded and walked into the bathroom. I slipped on the dress and walked out earning myself a whistle from Charlie. “Oh yeah. You’re hot.” She smiled real big. “Why, thank you.” I said and bowed toward her. “You both look amazing yourselves.” I smiled. “We’d better get going. It’s 5:45 and your Mom will kill us if we’re late.” Beckett says. She rushes to the door and opens it. As we make our way down stairs I feel Iris began to get excited. “What is it, Iris?” I asked her. “Im not sure yet.” She says. We continue our way downstairs when I’m stopped by Sebastian. “Hey girls can I have a minute with my sister?” He asked politely. He’s wearing a black tuxedo with a green tie, his blonde hair spiked and lazy looking, but also like there was effort put into it. “You look good.” I said as we walked to the side. Beckett and Charlie continued to the ballroom. “So do you. Listen, are you okay being at the party? We’re twins, I can literally feel when somethings wrong with you. You know that. And it doesn’t feel like you’re fine. If someone hurt you I swear to the Moon Godde-“ I cut him off. “Stop. I’m seriously fine. Being so close to shifting has be feeling all kinds of things. I just need to shift and I’ll feel better.” I said. I grabbed his arm and squeezed it gently. I don’t want to tell him anything that will taunt his image of his best friend. “Are you ready then?” He asked. He smiled as I wrapped my arm around his and nodded. “Let’s get in there.” I said with a smile. We continued on our journey to the ballroom talking the whole way. I could still feel Iris jumping around as we got closer and closer to the ballroom. I had I suspicion as to why and I was trying so hard not to show it. I don’t want to be interrogated by my brother again. “Princess April, Prince Sebastian, happy birthday.” One of the guard says as we walk up to the ballroom doors. Him and another guard grabbed the door handles and pulled open the doors, revealing a room packed full of people. People start clapping and cheering, screaming “happy birthday”. Sebastian squeezes my hand a few times as we walk in. “Mate” I whispered. I catch a smell in the air, one that smells like cinnamon and oranges.. not Alastair, but it smells so good. Where is it? I look around when I catch different mouthwatering smell, cake and pine cones that’s Alastair. I search for his enticing scent when I catch a third. Marshmallows and lavender.. What’s going on? “Mate.” I heard a deep voice call from the left of me in the crowd. I look that way immediately, searching for him when someone else speaks up. “Mate.” His heavenly deep voice called from my right. I went to search for that one when I heard a third voice.. Alastair’s voice. “Mate!” He roared. The crowd gasped and Sebastian looked at me confused. I noticed the men that called me mate had all made their way toward me and were standing around me. “That’s not possible.” My Dad said. “Yes it is. You know as well as I nothing is impossible.” My mother said to him. “April do you feel the pull to all of them?” My mom asked as she walked closer to us. I looked at them all, wanting so much to attach myself to them but at the same time wanting to run like h*ll. “I do.” I said. My mom turned to my father and whispered. “She has three mates. Not just one.” Mom said. I looked at her shockingly, not even realizing one of the men is standing behind me holding my back against his chest. He leans into my neck, placing his nose at the bottom and trailing up as he inhaled. “You smell so good, my beautiful mate.” He purred. I looked at Alastair who was staring at us with wide eyes and pink cheeks. He looked down awkwardly and rushed his hands down to his pants and covered his.. er*ction. “So. All three of us are your mate?” The other man asked. “I-I..” I stammered out when Mom walked up to us. “Yes. All three of you are her mates. All three of you will bear her mark, and she will bare all three of yours.” Mom said. Alastair turned to her and blinked rapidly. “All three of us?” He gulped loudly. “Yes. All three of you.” She said looking at me. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
