Chapter 1: The Rejected Alpha

"Do yourself a favor, Perseus. "Don't show your disgusting face to us if you don't want to hear harsh words from us," Mom said as she chewed. "Mom was right; my younger brother Peter said "We are losing our appetite because of you." Our youngest brother, Patrick, smirked and added, "Much better if you just eat in your room or perhaps you should eat with the servants." "Just finish eating so we can head to the party. We cannot be late simply because of a sick and frail creature." With contempt, my father said. He was unable to even meet my eyes. They are repulsed just by the sight of me, as though I have a highly contagious illness. I have got more sickness since I had a very weak body from birth. I am the oldest son of our pack's Alpha, yet they don't seem to give a damn about me because of this. Having me as their son made them feel so ashamed. They were attacked and killed by the Rogues that evening as they were making their way to the party. "Excuse me, Alpha, the memorial service is about to start. Everything is set. We are just waiting for you to start," my Beta Yohann said. "I'll get there shortly after you," I responded to him, "Just give me a second." Then Yohann turned to leave, saying, "I'll just tell them to wait for you." I was standing on this hill which is still a part of our domain. There are graves here for our departed loved ones, ancestors, and other team members. I can still clearly recall those old memories. I was twenty-four years old the day the Rogues killed my family. I am our Alpha's oldest son. Because of this, I am reportedly next in line to succeed the Alpha. My younger brother was chosen as our father's successor rather than me since I was ill and frail. That night, I ought to have been with them. However, they do not want me to be with them because they are humiliated and disgusted with me. Even though they were so cruel to me, that night, when I saw their lifeless bodies, I screamed and cried. Even if my mom didn't show care and love for me, I still grieve for them. And that night, I promised to myself that I would change and I was going to make myself strong to become the new Alpha of our pack. And I also promise to find and make those rogues suffer at my hands. My family's death gave me the will to do that. I was able to become strong enough to find those rogues and kill them. I pledged to look after our pack. No one dared harm us up until today, which began when I was made the Alpha. I do not have mercy on anyone who would harm us. I killed them, beat them up, and attacked them. I believed my life to be ideal. I acquire my people's respect. Everyone adores and loves me. My previous existence, which was gloomy, lonesome, and depressing, changed. When I became the Alpha of our pack. Helena Croix, a childhood friend of mine, became my girlfriend. To my life, she adds color. Helena was extremely extroverted, enthusiastic, and sweet. She gave me the confidence to be myself and laugh. But she also caused me harm, just like my family. Just because she desired a life separate from our pack, she rejected me when I finally made the decision to make her my Luna. She desires to travel and become an accomplished model. My spirit and my heart were torn apart by Helena's departure. I once more changed as a result of that. And I'm the Alpha of our pack right now, the powerful and effective one, but soulless and without life. I made the decision to isolate myself from other people. I gave my family's cemetery one more look before leaving and returning home. My packmates were waiting for me when I got there. We organize a memorial service every year to honor the passing of our loved ones. We are assembling in this manner because of that. "The dinner is ready, Alpha. The Alpha is here!" When I saw the woman, who appeared to be practically laughing and shouting, my brow furrowed. Being that I know all of my servants and pack members, it is odd for me to not know her. How about her clothing? I can feel my forehead twitch even more. My chief servant Marriam apologized, "Oh! I'm sorry, Alpha. I wasn't able to let you know about our new servant. Because I'm busy these days." I inquired, a serious expression on my face, "Who is she, and why is she wearing that kind of clothing?" "She is Cyan Smith, Alpha; I'm sorry, I already warned her not to dress too revealingly; I'll just tell her to change," Marriam murmured, bowing her head. She was unable to meet my eyes. Actually, none of them could even look me in the eye. With the exception of this new servant, who has the guts to smile while looking at me right now. Just tell her to change later, I said to Marriam. I took my assigned seat, but I nearly yelped in horror when I noticed the new servant seated next to me. I sat down and grimaced as I asked, "What are you doing there?" She replied to my question, "I'm seated next to you, Alpha." Her response caused my face to sag. "Where did you come from? Don't you know that seat belongs to someone? You can sit anywhere, but not in the designated chair for my Luna," I said to her, almost gritting my teeth. All the people here gasped in shock, but she seemed unaffected. "Oh! I'm sorry. "But I can be your Luna if you want. I thought this seat was available because I heard you don't have a Luna yet," she said. Do I sense her seduction? My brow furrows. "What do you think you're doing? You don't get to talk to our Alpha like that." Before I could say anything, Marriam took the servant away. Johann said regretfully, "I'm sorry, I didn't see that coming," my beta continued, "But she's hilarious and attractive, huh." I muttered, "Let's just eat," and then I began to eat. That new servant made my daily life more difficult as of that day. She was once lying in my bed and smelling my pillow when I caught her. I looked down at her and said, "What the hell are you doing?" She jumped from my bed quickly. She explained, "I'm just making sure your pillows and bed are nice and clean, Alpha." I took a full, in-depth look at her before asking, "You are wearing those kinds of things again; are you trying to entice me?" She is showing off her cleavage and her legs in a dress that is really tight and short. "What's wrong with my clothes? Is it true that just because I'm a servant doesn't mean we can't wear whatever we want? Don't we have the right to look good? " She told me. She was looking at me and had both hands on her waist. "You don't look good. You look like a slut." I said, but she doesn't really look like that. She screamed, "What!?" She exited my room with a stomp, saying, "Fine! I'll just change." Was it brave of that woman to treat me like that? I lead the Datura pack as its Alpha. She must be crazy to talk to me like that. My people and adversaries both feared me. Nevertheless, that woman was unique. I overheard my Delta saying, "Woah! What is she wearing?" Johann agreed, saying, "Why is she wearing that kind of attire when it's so hot outside?" The new servant was dressed in a turtleneck, long sleeves, and long buggy trousers as I turned to gaze in the direction they were looking. Seriouly? What was the matter with her? To continue our conversation, I simply shook my head. We want to make our pack's security better, because we learned that the Mafia and the Rogues had plans. Nobody in my pack should ever suffer an injury again. Johann was talking about the new device he had found, when I was interrupted. I took another look at the servant who was presently cleaning the pond in front of our gazebo. I'm not sure if it's in my head, but how is it possible for her to cross the pond so quickly in her human guise? Did she fly or what?
