Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all enjoy Christmas and spending it with loved ones, whether friends or family! For those who do not celebrate, happy holidays! I would like to wish you all good health and fortune and all the things that life brings you joy and happiness!

I will be looking to release a chapter in the next couple of days! I have been trying to write up my chapter in between all the craziness that I have been dealing with! It has definitely been a couple of hectic days trying to get Christmas things sorted. I would like to thank you all for your patience and for reading my first ever story! During this couple of weeks that I have off in between work, I would like to add a few more chapters and also hear from all you readers regarding what you guys think and what you would like to happen in the story. It would be awesome to get more input from you all.

Chase POV

Today, was the day I would take Lucy and Mia far away from Alpha James. Alpha James and Callum were both leaving today, though they did not say what time. I had all my plans planned out already and I had planned to leave around midnight as the guys were changing shifts at the perimeter. I had already got Lucy to make sure to pack some food for the 3 of them and some old, ragged clothes that they could all change into. The only thing I needed was to be able to hide their scent until they could get away far away. Since it had been raining for the past few days, mud would be easy to find, and they can hide their scent until they were half-way across the country. So, I started collecting mud and hiding it in my room.

I was summoned to Alpha James’s office, so I knocked on the door, “Come in Chase” Alpha James said. “Alpha” as I bowed my head. Both Callum and Noah were there in the office already. “Now that you are here Chase, I wanted to inform you all that I will be appointing Noah as Head Captain, it will be like a Gamma role. You will both be reporting to me and if there are any issues, you are to inform me immediately.” Alpha James said. “Yes, Alpha James.” We both bowed our heads. “You are both dismissed, we will see you both in 5 days’ time” he said. On that note, both Noah and I left the Alpha office. I could see Noah having a smug look. I could not wait until that smirk was wiped off his face when I disappear, and he must deal with James’s temper. He will probably s**t his pants, he was a p****y in general.

I headed to the training grounds to get ready for training. I needed to act normal, so I did not raise any suspicions before James left. I could not have anything jeopardise anything. I had instructed Lucy this as well and we both agreed to not tell Mia until later. The only thing I needed to make sure was that Mia was not to hurt from the abuse she was receiving now that Noah would be trying to inflicted. He was a power-hungry wolf; he would do anything to please James. I decided to mind-link Noah and tell him to come over to the training grounds. Noah came over shortly, “what’s up Chase?” he asked. I said to him “we should do some sparring, plus I needed a sparring partner” I responded.

We faced each other and I got into a crouching position. Noah was still standing up. I knew he had a weak spot, now was the perfect timing to see if he has paid attention to any of the training. He lunged at me, and I dodged him but not before I tried to deliver a right hook and he managed to block it. I turned around and faced him, keeping my guard up. This time I decided to lunge at him, he took me face on, I pretended to throw a punch but dropped down and swiped his legs. He fell but quickly scrambled up before landing a punch on me. I stumbled backwards and got ready into a defensive position. Noah charged at me again, copying my move and I just about managed to block his punch and jumped backwards before he could swipe at my legs. Then I quickly lunged at him and grappled with him. We traded blows at each other, I could feel my nose and my ribs were throbbing. I got up and moved away from him. I could feel he was getting tired. I scoffed to myself, this is what you get for not training so hard and always playing around with she wolves. I thought, now I should probably end this quickly. I lunged for him one more time and pretended to swipe his legs but instead I gave him an uppercut, connecting my fist with his chin and making him stumble back. I then quickly grabbed him and twisted his arms behind his back, kicked his legs apart so he fell. My knee was digging into his back, and I had my hand around his throat. “I yield” Noah said as he was panting.

I got off Noah and helped him up. “That was a good sparring session, thanks for that Noah” I replied and trying to be civil with him. We already had the attention of other members. “Let’s get to the hospital, just to make sure we have no broken bones” I said to Noah. He laughed dryly and we walked back to the hospital. We had trained for a few hours, and it was indeed a much-needed sparring session. I mean I hoped we did not encounter any rogues on our journey, but we had to be prepared for any worse case scenarios.

After being checked over by the doctor, I had no broken bones and would heal properly, I decided to go for a quick perimeter check. I wanted to make sure that the route I had planned out was fine. Everything looked fine, the route we were going to be taking would help us keep hidden away from any rogues, so we were not in plain sight. Now it was waiting for the perfect time to leave unnoticed.

After the perimeter check, I headed back to the packhouse to grab some food. I wanted to make sure Lucy was all ready for tonight when I came to get her. I entered the packhouse and grabbed some food and Lucy nodded to me to indicate that she was ready. We decided to keep communication minimal, we did not trust anyone there. Alpha James and Callum had apparently left already to head over to see Bianca. I decided to take a nap before dinner, I would need to conserve my energy for the journey tonight.

I woke up after a few hours nap just in time for dinner. It was spaghetti Bolognese, which was yummy as usual. I even asked for seconds from one of the Omegas but asked if it could be put in a large container using the excuse that it was my favourite and that I may want it later as a midnight snack or something. The Omega gave me the container and I thanked her for it. As I was leaving, Noah came in, “where are you going Chase? Why do you have food in the container?” he asked me. “I love spaghetti Bolognese, so just wanted to have seconds just in case for later” I winked at him. Noah laughed and said “Well, you can’t go wrong with food and women. I just wanted to let you know I will be heading out to bar and you know, hopefully bang a she-wolf.” “Go enjoy yourself, I will make sure everything is fine here” I responded to Noah.

Noah POV

I had bumped into Chase, and I did think it was weird seeing Chase having a food in another container, but when he said that it was because he could be having it for later and he had winked at me. Maybe Chase was starting to let loose and having some fun with a she-wolf. He always kept to himself since I have known him. I mean I knew Chase was an older wolf, but if he is happy to let loose and settle down with a she-wolf then why not.

I never really liked Chase, ever since he stumbled onto me abusing Mia, I had to be cautious. I did not want people know that I also had planned to f**k Mia too.
