Kitsune Rising

Chapter two

I smelled a rosy scent fill my nostrils after colliding with the person. Thankfully not hard enough to knock either of us over. "I'm sorry, I'm so sor-" my words cut off when I saw who it was. The snow white haired girl from earlier. "Hello, my name is Amelia." she stuck her hand out in greeting, her mouth again curled in a smile, it wasn't a warm smile either. With a slight shiver I grabbed her hand. "Lotus." I replied.

"Well then, looks like I'm your guide for today, you should definitely come with me. I'll show you where all classes will be held, the dorms, especially yours and all the fun places is students like to party and have a good time." she said with a wink. Maybe she wasn't that bad at all. Her brown haired friend was there as well. She was shorter then Amelia, a bit more curvier and definitely seemed like the submissive follow the leader sort. Which meant Amelia was the dominant of the two. Not sure how the animal side was gonna affect me on this matter but I most definitely did not feel the urge to submit to this woman.

"Alright then." I nodded my head, giving each of the girls a slight smile before following. Maybe I will fit in easily, one way to find out though. "So this is the study hall, you can study here, chitchat, whatever." I looked around us. There were tables laid out everywhere with some students spread out here and there. There was a grand staircase in the middle leading up towards more tables. It didn't look to be a very popular area.

"Not a lot of students use it though, they either go to the library, their dorms or outside." Amelia basically confirmed it. "Come along." She continued towards a door that lead back outside. "Now these are the gardens, you'll be spending a lot of time out here during Botany class,"

With a nod of my head, I gazed around looking at all the plants I didn't know the name of. "It's beautiful." Those words didn't even began to describe the place. Green covered trees were all over the place, beautiful flowers in shades of orange, blue, purple, red, etc. were scattered everywhere as well. There were birdbaths, a trail that more then likely lead throughout the entire garden which also wound around a beautiful fountain of a woman half shifted. She wore what looked like a dress, her ears out as well as her nine tails. "That's supposed to be Veina, she was killed by Serfina. A dark kitsune who used to teach here before the great war. You'll learn all about that. We were just babies when it ended. Come along." With that, she made a sharp turn, exiting the gardens just as quickly as we had entered

We continued walking through the grounds, her pointing things out as we went. We finally entered an area with lunch tables, nearly the entire school was there eating. "Ah must be lunch time." She smiled at me, her smile a tad cooler then before. As I opened my mouth to say something, a wave of water doused me from out of nowhere. The room suddenly went quiet as ice began crawling up my legs, freezing me in place. "What's going o-" I started before my mouth froze shut.

"Listen here freak, I don't know what shifter you are but youre a mutt, got that? Product of a human. To top that off, you plowed into me. No one does that." her smile grew wider. "You've made my list freak, I'm the queen of this school." With that, she turned and stalked away, leaving me to fall on my knees as the ice melted away.

As she walked, the cafeteria erupted into laughter, here I was: thawing, wet and on the ground and all they could do was laugh. 'Hey! Are you ok?" I looked up and saw a girl with chin length black hair, her eyes a forest green while her frame was petit and short. She was slightly tan and very beautiful. Are all shifters beautiful? I thought to myself.

"I'm fine. Just wasn't expecting something like that." I stood up with her help, after I stood, a blast of wind hit me, drying me completely. "Well I'm Lucille, you can call me Luce. I'm a pegasus shifter." she held her hand out to me and I took it, giving it a shake. "Lotus, I'm a k-" I stopped myself quickly before continuing "a fox shifter." I finished. I don't know why I didn't tell her what I was, I just hid it. It probably had to do with what I had heard earlier, fearing that maybe kitsunes were now frowned upon or feared. Or maybe sought after, to be used. I don't know but whatever it was, it held me back for now. Her eyes narrowed slightly as I stumbled over my lie before shrugging her shoulders.

"Well Lotus, I'm sorry about that queen B***. Shes always been like that. She things she's over everyone and everything. Anyways, I at least hope she did infact give you a tour, that'll make getting around easier." I nodded my head at her, my mind flashing back to the gardens. It would be a great place to study or nap whenever I felt the need to be away from everyone.

Lucilles looked over my shoulder and smiled happily. "That would be Tessa." I turned to look, she also has striking white hair with ice blue tips. "You can call me Tess. I'm a wolf shifter." She smiled her crystal blue eyes sparkling as if she held a secret. "How many shifters are there?" I asked, my head tilting to the side. Tess tiled her lips up slightly, she could be the living version of snow white, minus the black hair. "There's foxes, wolves, bears, owls, hawks, tiger, lions, unicorns, pegasus', snakes and kitsunes."

I nodded my head as if that made sense while on the inside I was freaking out. Why did this have to happen to me? And why a kitsune of all things? I shook my head, trying to clear the questions away before I noticed Tess looking at me expectantly. "I'm sorry, what?"

She threw her head back and laughed, even her laugh was beautiful. The shifters god's had to have made a mistake or this was some sort of sick joke. Everyone here is drop dead gorgeous then there's me. I'm not ugly by no means, I'm actually beautiful but my boobs were on the smaller side and my butt, normal medium butt while everyone else...at least the ones I've seen, all had nice curves, whether they were skinny or chunky, they had some nice curves.

"What animal are you?" Tess asked again, her eyes glowing with curiosity.

"I'm a uhhh..." I stammer, trying to figure out how to respond. "Yes, I would like to know that as well." a voice said behind me. I noticed Tess and Lucille both tensing up in surprise.
